  • "taking a buzzfeed quiz to see what type of vegetable you are or something like that" lmaooo too accurate 😂
  • @cathyharvey4
Nobody wants to see Steven flying first class and eating gold plated food from five star restaraunts while wanting the fans to fund this crap while folks are struggling. Plus Lim has no charisma
  • @Shadowstorm612
If they can't make money with the ridiculous amount of cash coming in they really need to scale back
  • @Reavstone21
They slap us in the face. I followed them from buzzfeed and watched every video they had uploaded. I'm not paying to just to watch them.
  • @nishottara777
Puppet History is the best content imo, Shane needs to go solo
  • @Maryyeung12894
They need to drop Lim. Ghost files is funding the entire network and can’t cover all of Lim’s escapades/budget. They mentioned the CEO is Lim so I think it was him that made the finally call/the buck stops with him.

The thing I'm afraid of is they will increase the price of their subscription fees. From 6 and slowly becoming more expensive.
  • When I saw this news drop, it ruined my day. I remember being so obsessed with mainly Puppet History, that I made my own Professor puppet because I couldn't afford the plushies. Seeing that they want to put their future content behind a paywall(and were planning on removing their old content from YouTube and putting it on the streaming service instead) is heartbreaking. I'm keeping my professor, and the good memories, but to respond to their video, I will not be "joining them" for the next chapter.
  • Based on the financial breakdown in the video, it sounds like they didn’t know how to budget and scale production appropriately enough based on what they were pulling in. I don’t have any reason to think they will be able to budget and scale production with the revenue they get from this streamer to avoid the same money troubles, so why invest my money? Plus the tone of the video, they don’t even seem 100% on board with this idea so why should I be?

I’m glad someone who watched them is making a video about this, because you know how disappointing this really is. :/
  • They originally said they were going to paywall the old content also….but they backtracked on that real quick

i have a professor plushie as well. I shall remember the good times with him as it's farewell to Watcher. killed by ego & ambition. Apologies for this long rant but I want to explain it so someone who's never watched them could also understand it. My issues with Ghost Files, and why i haven't seen season 2, is I'm a skeptic. And what I loved about Unsolved was Shane's flagrant disrespect of what we can call "ghost hunting protocol". he never pretended to be scared when there was nothing to be scared of. he always pointed out ACTUAL real world causes for the noise. Ryan- "Is someone screaming? Hello?" hooting intensifies Shane- "That's an owl." Ryan- "Oh." Ghost Files has so little of the banter they had before. Now Shane said it was HIS decision to be more respectful, to play into the 'it could be a ghost' bc it's "good entertainment". Whether that's true or he was maybe told to not be so aggressively skeptical....Ghost Files started to feel more like those obnoxious ghost shows on TV I don't watch bc they're outrageously fake and every creak is their imminent death. Ryan's obsession with more formatting, more fake ghost detection tech that doesn't work but he spends a HUGE chunk of the episode explaining how it works [never why it works, as in how is a ghost communicating by changing the temperature in a room and a device somehow knows exactly how to turn such a thing into words), and more overall polish has made it feel less real, more scripted, and unbelievably it's eroded the chemistry they previously had. I mean in alot of the episodes I watched of season 1 RYAN didn't even seem as scared as he was in Unsolved and he's the believer! I understand overcoming the fear or maybe being desensitized to it but at the same time, it also seems like for all the jokes he's cracking or walking through an alleged haunted house eating popcorn (something that sounds far more Shane-like than Ryan-like) that he's still trying to be a super serious ghost hunter. It felt weird to watch. It was like Shane was actually taking it seriously and Ryan was the one trying to do both his role in Unsolved and also Shane's. So in the goodbye video when Ryan says he wants MORE formatting, when I already think the changes are far too much, I sense Ghost Files is going to be Ghost Hunters At Home in the near future. It's like they forgot, or completely misunderstood, what made their previous shows so good. Or maybe they think a flashy too expensive set makes up for the issues bc pretty. I'm disappointed in them. P.S. great video btw!

All I want is Puppet History, Ghost/Mystery Files, Are you scared, Weird Wonderful World and that series where they play video games. Common denominator of all of these series? Ryan and Shane. That’s it. No huge production. No idiotic food videos. No Steven Tesla driving, gold leaf eating, “I’m friends with racists and homophobes” Lim.
  • @TimothyCollins
Ps - you gir it : they still have a patreon. Netflux, hulu and so on dont do that. They can either be a streaming service or a patreon supported youtuber channel. Trying to bd both is truly scummy. Thats doublrle dipping in their fams pockets.
  • @alanbeesby2220
It’s funny, as the number of “writers” on shows went up, the quality of the content has gone down 😢 just let Ryan and Shane be Ryan and Shane!
  • @theflowerhead
I think it was tone deaf and honestly literally rude to people who stuck around since buzzfeed and especially to patreon. I pretty much agree with you. Makes me sad. Some people pointed out their "eat the rich jokes" which is like...oof.
  • @letmeowt
Are they still gonna ask viewers to send in stories for stuff like Too Many Spirits? That way people can pay to watch them make money off of what their viewers sent in
