Lions win first playoff game in 32 years, Dolphins proved they are 'frauds' vs. Chiefs | THE HERD

Published 2024-01-15
The Detroit Lions defeated the Los Angeles Rams in Matthew Stafford's return 24-23. This marked the Lions first playoff win in 32 years and will host the winner of the Philadelphia Eagles-Tampa Bay Bucs game. Colin Cowherd praises the team's success, including the front office and Dan Campbell for turning the organization around. Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins came up short in the playoffs .. again. They lost 26-7 in the cold against the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. Tua Tagovailoa struggled, finishing for 199 yards, a touchdown to Tyreek Hill, an interception and a 63.9 passer rating. Colin raises the question about Tua as the long-term future in Miami.

The no calls people will use for excuses are so upsetting. I agree there were missed calls, but some, like the "offsides", were against the lions.
  • @ryancummings2635
what about all the misses on Detroits end? Jahmyr Gibbs late hit no call, Sam Laporta hands to the face no call, and neutral zone infraction that killed a scoring drive.

“Held on for dear life” is a weird way to say “never trailed”

Congratulations to all Detroit folks and Lions fans from a lifelong Chicagoan Bears fan. I'm super happy for you all, and I enjoyed every time I've visited your city. Detroit has good people... Y'all's city is laid out in a way that make it easy to navigate also.

What about the egregious missed offsides call in the second quarter? Rams jumped offsides but said the Lions false started. That erased 3 points off the board
  • @JPISME91
Colin can’t even fathom the possibility that Campbell out coached McVay
  • @jimlahey7066
If Colin’s going to talk about the no calls the lions got away with, he can’t leave out the obvious neutral zone infraction that was wrongly called a false start against the lions in the first half. If that call is made correctly, lions score a touchdown on the drive 100%. It’s dereliction of duty not mention that.
  • @MDFlo
So for the last 3 years Colin has told fans to shut up on missed calls. He has literally said they don’t matter. He has said that only losers use refs missing calls as an excuse but he opens his monologue with the missed calls

Hutchinson got held everytime the ball got hiked lol
  • @donez-rs2zt
You were wrong quit trying to justify your wrong pick
  • @rotofire9892
There were a lot of missed calls on both sides of the lions/rals game. And the lions defense held the rams to just 2 field goals in the second half. There were adjustments by both sides in the game, and despite poor officiating, the lions came out on top.
  • So we are not going to talk about the blown offsides call or the way they were holding Hutch all game
  • @StrikerJones
The missed calls were pretty evened out between the teams
  • @hype498
The inconsistency with these officials has been awful all year, and getting worse. These days they have all possible camera angles, and they still get it wrong. Then they wonder why people say the league is fixed. If you have a close game, every call is crucial especially in the playoffs.

-Phantom false start for Detroit that should've been a neutral zone infraction/encroachment automatic first down -No block in the back call for Anzalone on what wouldve been a sack and turned into the Tutu Atwell TD -No hands to the face for Sam LaPorta -No penalty for lowering the helmet and extending the forearm into Josh Reynolds' head/helmet I will absolutely acknowledge that the Rams have things to complain about, no doubt. But this was not a one sided affair lol.
