I fully and truly believe Eloy is the best metal drummer in the world. It's not even close in my mind, there's a lot of other amazing people out there like Baard from Leprous and Mario from Gojira, but Eloy's sheer power and organic connection to the instrument is unreal. You know how people used to say Jimi Hendrix' guitar was like a third arm or an extension of his body, this kid came out the womb with sticks instead of hands. Unbelievable. Great video!

Eloy is the best metal drummer around. He has that ridiculous power but also his feel is crazy for the speed he goes. Nobody quite like him. Animal!

Eloy is a (technical) beast! He helped Sepultura to get to another level on theirs last album Quadra. Precision, speed, strenght... guy has it all.

As a brazilian metal fan, I can say the guy makes us proud. You would not believe how many good musicians we have here. In a certain way, they kinda try to put some extra passion on everything. I don’t know why. I’m not just laying down the red carpet here, I really mean it, humbly. There is a funny old video where Eloy, when he was a kid, plays a mini drum in a Tv contest show. The precision he managed at that age was already remarkable. You really should look for it, if you haven’t already.
