Maid Rite, according to my fellow Daytonians is the best place to get a sandwich. The little sandwich shop in Greenville Ohio is more than just another fast-food franchise. With locally sourced sides, loose meat sandwiches, and unique decore people from across Ohio make their way to this iconic location.

Grew up in Missouri eating these as a kid. We had one in our neighborhood that was only about 3 blocks away. Great sandwich.

Love it! I moved to Texas in 94 from Greenville and i haven’t had one in many years but I still to this day get cravings for a classic maid rite.

Got one 20 minutes away from me. I gonna make my own tonight for dinner.
  • With mustard, pickles, & if you fried a burger on a flat opener grill with a huge handful of onions some would be caramelized, some soft, some raw, that would be an Oklahoma onion burger, delicicious also
  • Your husband has good taste I could never drive past a Maid-Rite without stopping in Best burgers ever

I worked at a Maid-Rite in Central IL through high school and summers in College. I loved the job and loved the customers, I miss those days. We had fantastic chili, sandwiches, and the milkshakes were the best in the entire area. Thanks for sharing this bit of history.
  • Yay!!!! Loved this soooo much. It’s on our list too. That gum wall is crazy. I’d hate to be he person who has to clean it in the summer!
  • @ihs200
The gum wall was actually started because after the highschool football games people would come and leave pennies on the wall Incase somebody was short a few cents.
  • Had one about 7 years ago when I lived in Xenia. My coworker took me there and was like this is a staple, it was awesome.
