The scariest part of Trump's first year as president isn't how abnormal he is, it's how normal he makes everything else look by comparison.

“Don’t normalize this” has become a kind of rallying cry during President Trump’s first year in office -- a reminder to not get too acclimated to Trump’s norm-breaking and erratic behavior.
But the real danger of the Trump presidency might have less to do with Trump’s abnormality and more to do with how “normal” he makes other Republicans look by comparison. And the concept of the “Overton Window” helps explain why our politics and media might be warped long after Trump’s presidency comes to an end.

USA need more parties. This two party system is horrible to the democracy.

Americans aren't voting for who's better, but who will do less harm.
  • "Mom I'm pregnant!" "WHAT?" "No I just failed a math test" "Oh ok" So basically that but about politics?

How well this has aged. Bernie sanders-“what was once considered radical 4-5 years ago is now mainstream.”
  • it's like that boy who goes with his father and asks "can i get a dog?" and the father "no way!" his friend says "you're asking it wrong. let me show you" thet go with the friend's father and he asks "can i get an elephant?" and the father replies "no way...! a dog, maybe..."

Anyone who's ever bargained at a marketplace already understands the Overton window

This is why Bernie Sanders calling himself a Socialist is the best thing to happen to politics. The popularity of M4A happened because he first shocked everyone with that S label.

Meanwhile over here in Europe where we haven't been as desensitize, all this looks like a kindergarten play. And no I am not exaggerating. That's how this looks like. Its so far outside of the realm of reason that people have a hard time accepting news coverage from America is real sometimes.

Honestly I didn't feel anything watching any of those clips so jokes on them I don't feel anything anymore

Coming back to this video 5 years later is scary. The whole Republican Party shifted even further right along with him

Guys can we stop having these "leftie" vs "rightie" arguments. Like construct a real point instead of saying 'leftie logic'

4:16 Vox labels Ben Shapiro as an anti-trump conservative. Sure, Ben has argued over several points with Trump, as most Americans do, but he has been greatly supportive of Trump and stated he will support him in the next election.

Having conservative and trumpers as separate categories is so accurate
