Why Did MotoGP Race At Abandoned F1 Circuit? I visited the F1 circuit that was abandoned, only for MotoGP to visit the Buddh International Circuit years later. Would it be a success for MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3? I found out.

Nice Scriptā€¦.glad you guys loved the circuit. The track guys from Spain, Uk, Singapore and India and some other parts of the world, spent 2.5 months with an average of 3 to 5 hours sleep., worked really hard to make a good and safe circuit. We also look forward to make it a better race next year.
  • @siners77
I am sorry you had to go through some issues and unfortunately meeting wrong ppl. I would love to change the persecution in any capacity I can for next year. Here are some die hard fans of MotoGP, F1 including myself and we love our country and would like others to know how good host we can be. Hope you get in touch and I can change the entire experience as this has hurt me what you all went through and still gave your best as we all witnessed a wonderful race. Cheers to all the team and riders for this. Good luck
  • Hi Taylor, Thank you for posting such a balanced video. I was a flag marshall for the GP and we faced quite a few challenges too but that won't stop me from volunteering again next yearšŸ˜…. Hopefully by next year a new international airport will start functioning which is just 30kms from BIC and also a few hotels are in works near the circuit. There are quite a few very nice hotels at Pari Chowk which is only 18 KMs from the circuit. This GP was chaotic and i'm really sorry that you were not able to experience the real Indian hospitality. Hopefully you'll come to India next time and give us another chance. Thanks to Dorna and everyone responsible for bringing MotoGp to India. Hopefully F1 returns too. Thank you again for being this understandingšŸ™šŸ¼.

It was such an honour, pleasure and amazing experience to meet you at the races !!! Canā€™t wait for the 2024 race and to see you again šŸ˜Š cheers šŸ»

I was there at the MotoGP event and I met Superbike Champion Max Biaggi in the Aprilia stand. I even got his autograph! The atmosphere was very energetic along with the commentators and fans cheering on from the grandstands!

My wife and I should be in India right now but sadly she has been ill so we couldnā€™t go. I have been to India hundreds of times (and eaten out every day never been ill goodness knows what you got hold of at the airport ) in the last 20 years including Delhi Noida and Gurgaon (the Mosaic used to be a good hotel in Noida) many times. We got our visas on line in less than 24 hours BUT until the middle of the year U.K. citizens could not get on line visas as our govt pissed off the Indian govt so they withdrew the on line facilities for a while. Most GOOD Indian hotels are fabulous - try the Taj or Oberoi group. All the major international chains are there and are good. India is a fabulous country and the people are delightful. By the way, the Indian government banned these visa agencies ages ago so I have no idea who your Bobby was working for but they had to be iffy. Next year apply on line well before hand and get 5 years visas - then problem solved for a while.

Nice Video. But to be honest, Dorna being the organiser of such a large sport, should've done a bit more research and booked/recommended teams to book hotels in Central Delhi like Taj, The Leela Palace, Hilton, ITC etc. You guys are lucky to have come out alive of Noida.
  • @tristandunn4628
I always liked the F1 in India and was sad when they stopped going there. Great to see MotoGP making great use of those facilities. Enjoyed watching all four races. Looking forward to many more years of racing there.
  • @layingblacklines
Glad to hear your side of this. I heard so many disgusting things said about India on reddit leading up to the race. To the point of being racist really. I think there's a big American contingency on reddit and they can generally be very anti anything Asian. Glad to see it wasn't all doom and gloom though. And that the visa issue wasn't because of corrupt government or whatever the conspiracy theories were. Track looked brilliant.
  • Thanks for making this video, a real eye opener. Beware the buffet! I've had the galloping shits from buffets in the UK, this is definitely not just an India thing. The racing was excellent, I would love the opportunity to ride that track. Already looking forward to Motogp India 2024.
  • @Indian-Canadian
I am quite surprised that you stayed at hotels where even the locals wouldnt stay in...! Curious to know why you did not choose known brands like Marriott, etc.
  • @AtharvaOutrider
It was really an honour to have motogp here in india and we would definitely want you to come back!! The food and hotels are really great here but you will need someone to guide you which hotel to book and what indian food you should try and from which place, hopefully you will get someone next time! Or maybe i can do it toošŸ™Œ Iā€™m really sorry for the inconvenience caused to you by my country. See you soon Taylorā¤ļø

My business is immigration law (over twenty-five years doing this for Clients up to publicly listed Companies on both sides of the Atlantic). I canā€™t say I am surprised that someone didnā€™t do their job properly but why would Dorna appoint someone who could not handle the job? If you need something done correctly in the future then feel free to get in touch. Aside from that, a fascinating insight into the background to this.
  • @AST4EVER
12:50 you booked a Motel instead of a hotel bro šŸ˜‚
  • Really nice of you to give an honest review taylor , being an indian and an automobile enthusiast i was very happy and proud to see such an auspicious event like moto gp happening here on my motherland , i heartily regret all your inconvinience but being a rapidly developing nation , we are reaching new milestones and achievements everyday and we're constantly learning from the same , i ultimately hope welcoming you here the next year as well !
  • @neilhellings2525
What a fantastic, balanced video - if everyone in life let alone MotoGP had such a positive outlook and how to lose weight without working outšŸ˜‚
  • @SSRaskar
Being a Indian I sincerely apologise for the experience you've had in a week. We know handling an event is not a joke, many things happen at the same time and synergy between them is paramount importance to the success of a task. Due to incompetent staff and lack of sense of complexity the event had a load of hickups. The logistics being the majority of problems coming from. We will be delving deeply into the matter for 2024 seasons and we asure that a better experience can be delivered. I personally thank you for coming to India with your sport and letting us get a breath of high adrenaline for a weekend. Thank you for sharing your side of the story publically and point out specific areas for improvement. We hope to give you the best of what India has to offer in the coming season and hope to help enjoy the weekend to the fullest without worrying where your trimmer disappeared!
  • India is an amazingly wonderful assault on the senses, and the racing was fantastic. Iā€™m always surprised when I visit and Yup, the food can bite you and it can be difficult to judge where to eat to keep solid. Youā€™ll be wiser for next year.
  • @nicnak4475
Fascinating insight into your experience in India, Taylor, I really enjoyed it, I thought there was some of the most exciting races of the season. Keep up the good work šŸ‘
  • @SpiderSid007
Hey Taylor, Thanks for posting such an interesting video. I can totally understand and emphasize with your predicament whilst in India. However, please note that there are a few learnings that you should take away from this. 1. Hotels: Even in a place like London, you can find dingy hotels having rooms and sheets smelling of puke, and blankets feeling like they've never been cleaned. You know not to go to those hotels based on their reviews and some general research on the internet. The same applies for India. and even more so for Noida. You would have found terrific places to stay in Delhi (like "The Leela Palace" or "The Taj Palace" that you showed at 11:30). But I understand if you were trying to save a few bucks there on accommodation. Personally, we found a great AirBNB in Greater Noida, despite being from Maharashtra (another state a bit far away), having never been to Noida ourselves before, simply by looking at pictures and communicating with the host (in English). 2. Transportation: I'm curious about why you had to take a bus from the Airport to your Hotel, to the circuit? "Noone was allowed to hire a car". Did that mean that you weren't allowed to hire a Uber? Was this enforced on you by your Team Manager/Owner or the Organizer? Maybe you could throw some light on this. (Personally, we got an Uber straight from the Airport. Did you know that there's a dedicated Uber Zone inside the Airport?) 3. Delhi Belly: Ordering food in an Airport lounge isn't something that even we Indians usually do, unless its a cup of coffee. Instead, we make use of the many terrific restaurants and franchise food joints in the Airport itself. You've even got KFC, McDonalds, Subway, etc. As a rule of thumb, preferably eat something at a Franchise whilst at an Airport. Indians themselves don't prefer eating Indian at the airport, because we know that we can get the good quality meals at well-known restaurants near where we reside. Next time you wish to try curry while in India, please go to a famous restaurant which is not at the Airport. Hope you guys have better luck next year. Cheers!
