Draglines & Dozers - Ruston Bucyrus 22RB Brake Band Installation

Published 2023-08-04
In this video we fit new lower brake bands to a 22RB dragline as the originals had rusted out. We also run a CAT D6N to cut in a pad for the 22RB to sit on.

Comedy value is high on this one!

ENJOY!!

I run up my Ruston Bucyrus 10 RB every couple of months and warm up the clutches and brakes, also cover the drum area with a tarp. Wet linings are a pain and could be dangerous. I have found since owning one is to keep all the linkages well greased up and also release oil on pivot points. Its best to give these machines a regular workout and they will get better .

I would have put copper grease on the pin, but I would be too big to get through the side window lol. Just the drive chain bearings to sort out next . Machine stuck up Penderyn for years in the weather did not help. But you are winning
  • The swing clutches appear to have a brake band on one of them. I wonder if that was something Ruston-Bucyrus did as here in the states I have never seen that on a Bucyrus-Erie 22B.

nice work who ever made them brake bands for you and it looks like you need a good fabricator lol
  • your root section pendents are missing on your icd meaning your high a frame is too close to the boom just commenting also your using a c wheight on dragline your best balance is 50 ft 3/4 bucket and side tracking a dragline anywhere is never going to be good news especially on made up ground play safe people
