what the old man is doing is called candy pulling, i used to work at a restaurant wich made its own candy, its really REALLY heavy to pull the candy, major respect to this man!
  • You’ve got to appreciate that people like this guy are still making candy with their bare hands when most candy nowadays is made by a machine.

I’ve tried stretching those candies, and even though they look silky and stretchy, it’s ROCK SOLID, feels like a really strong rubber band.
  • -title is not clickbait -video is straight to the point -good editing with no flashy effects or overly annoying music with terrible loops -great camera angles with no obstructions 10/10 video

This person is wearing back supporting belt and he is still making traditional candy. Massive props to him omg
  • @CloutzyDan
Can we just appreciate that he’s working in that age. God bless these people
  • I was super anxious throughout the whole video looking at him dealing with literally boiling sugar with BARE HANDS and with minimal protection, that anxiety turned to massive respect later as he pulled and stretched that candy by hand. He must have so much strength and skill, plus experience and scars to be able to do that. Mad props.

I live in Taiwan. I used to eat it when I was a kid. It’s sweet. Sadly, there are fewer than ten masters of making 白糖蔥 left in Taiwan. The skill is gradually lost. Ohhh I miss the taste of it a lot. (´・_・`)

This is so much more satisfying than those “try not to be satisfied” challenges with the crappy overused music

You always hear about the color change after pulling, but this is by far the most significant and satisfying video to watch candy being pulled. Each pull adds a little extra air and really does make that color brighter and lighter. Crazy.

The way he cooled it down by spinning it in the water tank blew my mind. Simple, inexpensive and quick. Very innovative.

The candy pulling is what I imagined rapunzel's hair to look like in real life lol

Can we just respect that this man is 70 years old and still working for their family?
  • When he started to stretch them, it almost looks like Rapunzel's golden hair...So pretty

I appreciate this man sooo much , his hard work deserves all this , I hope his business is going well , I would sure buy a lot if we’re in Taiwan
  • Am I the only one who noticed he is making candy in open toed sandals? That's a level of confidence I don't possess.
  • @erikayuuka
I love how hes so confident that the candy wont touch the floor when he was stretching it onto the light brown stick
  • @proddelle
this man is literally DANCING with the candy I love this guy so much
  • @kaiminamoto
This is quite different from the other pulled candies I've seen. Those are solid hard candies while this is hollow with a meringue-like texture. This looks so much better! 🤤
