In life you’re learning from your mistakes But In school you’re getting punished for your mistakes

“How many of you guys avoid eye contact with the teacher to try not to get called upon” That hit me.

As a teacher, this really resonated with me. I am changing the way I teach so that learning is more important than testing. Thank you for bringing me to my senses.

5 Years later and this is still right, because the school system is sadly still the same.

I always talk, the test isn't to say how smart you are, its to say how good your memory is
  • @BasicLockMan
I wish this man would come to my school and make a speech like this. Our generation is doomed.

"watch this before going to school" gets late for school

As a highschool drop out, this was very touching. I've struggled with school my whole life, so I finally "gave up." I started reading 7 habits and listening to CBT, now I've started a business with my mom. I'm doing better than I have ever before.

Um I'm sorry I can't answer your question I haven't learned that in school yet.

    This
 I
I cried. I cried because I had so much going on when I was in school. I had things happen to my siblings in elementary school, I was bullied horribly in middle school to the point of being depressed and almost harming myself
thankfully I got outta there and switched schools. And for high school? I switched FIVE different high schools because of the mask during the pandemic and not being able to wear it and afford the private school I went to because I wanted to truly LEARN. I love learning
but I couldn’t do that when they placed pressure on me, when they didn’t allow me to think creatively. My first high school understood this, my other schools didn’t. And my last high school? The one where I didn’t have to teach myself for half the semester and then fight to learn the other half
Despite being an online home school, they really taught me lessons I will cherish forever. Thank you West River Academy.
