Great take on the pulse of the community. We are tired of outside groups (including colonizers) slumming our community with ill music, agendas and violence, and then weaponizing the victims to victimize each other. Enough! Leave us and our culture alone.

It is a celebration! Socially, culturally, rap industry-wise it is a dissasociation with Drake and those that groom and prey on the young, which is arguably painful to do. It's a taboo subject many don't feel comfortable to speak on though they know it happens, and Drake is a huge pop culture icon who has (had) many adoring fans who would be shocked at knowing all the things Kendrick alleges, but at least you get to sing a catchy chorus saying you're NOT a predator and they are not like you. As Kendrick said it's not about who's the biggest it's about love and hate. Surely there's more to come from making so many songs hating on Drake and shady celebs, but that remains to be seen.

Aways loved kdot, but it's bigger than that, I've never respected Drake for the way he treats women and I've waited over a decade for Drake to receive karma. No matter how long it may take, what's done in the dark will always comes to light -J Cole

Thank you, Dr. Tonya! I get upset when people try to blow off the beef by saying, "it's just music," and that we shouldn't pay attention to songs made with anger. This is no ordinary beef. This has opened up serious conversations.

I think you are right. I am a complete outsider and I only follow the rabbit hole because of the callout for the predator behaviour.

When we speak about culture vultures, you automatically think “white people” in this drake situation we’re talking about a guy who looks like us but does not come from our culture & from some reason he’s allowed to make music that affects our culture, so he’s allowed in. Kendrick pulled the curtains back and showed us he’s not for the incline of our culture & he perpetuate the things that are harmful to our culture

Can you explain we certain lines are stuck in my head? Example: “What is it THE BRAIDS?” “Certified lover boy, CERTIFIED PDFILE” “WOP WOP WOP WOP WOP Dot fuck em up” Etc.

War ready if the world ready to see you bleed. Notice I said we, It's not just me I'm what the culture feelin. 🔥 analysis
  • Thanks for your commentary. You explained why I love the song so much. The idea of an entire club of shouting “a minor!” As a diss. Instead of praise. I went to clubs when I was 12, looked 15, was treated 21. I wish this song was around so that at least there was one person saying it was weird.

Yes! Like Kendrick said twist the stories how you want hey Drake they’re not slow… the people are tired of artists being pushed on us. We want what we resonate with and that’s the betterment of society which is why we see ourselves in Kendrick.

Just makes sense... Thanks for your expertise. WE are tired. This has to be stopped...
