Too many are just one paycheck away from being homeless....IN AMERICA!
  • What is scary is how many are at the risk of homelessness as rent continues to increase.

Be grateful of what you have today because you may not tomorrow.
  • It's not always that people are making bad decisions. It's the fact that individuals can't keep up! Employers are not paying enough money for you to keep up. And you don't have support from anywhere else.
  • Even honest hard working people are getting priced out of their apartments.Government need to put a ceiling cap on rent increases so that more tenants dont end up being homeless.
  • The homeless count should be done in the fall, when homelessness is at its highest. That way, they'll be able to get a better picture of the issue! Homelessness will never be fixed or solved. The reason is that there's no money in it! You can't find anybody if you're sitting in your car! Go out and find these folks! Make sure they're properly counted and represented! Leave no one behind! Nobody should be thrown in jail just because they're homeless!

How is this the greatest country on earth when its citizens doesn't even have a roof over their heads?

Housing is a basic necessity. And we literally have enough vacant homes/apts for everyone..

Having volunteers go out in the middle of the night in the dead of Winter looking for homeless doesn't seem safe.

I'm a homeless single mother. Lots of homeless people are living in campgrounds.

It only takes one or two missed days at work(with no paid sick days),one Doctor visit or surgery, one automobile repair or simply an emergency that sets you back in this crazy expensive time in this "Great Nation" to put you on the streets. Those without savings or financial strong friends or and family that can help during hard times are screwed if almost anything goes wrong.
  • They need to roll out rent control to prevent the greed of corporations who own the rentals. 100 million dollars could have built several units of affordable housing.

All these officials they interviewed are masters of passing the buck

I’m living in the house I grew up in if I didn’t have I would be homeless. We need to build Tiny Homes Communities.

As a current homeless person there is no help or enough resources for us

The fact that volunteers have to do this, and that HUD are, according to its director, they plan to continue ‘counting’ as they’ve historically done ( she said this flippantly in my opinion ) … is disgraceful . And drones ??!! I can only imagine how traumatic and dehumanizing for a family with kids experiencing homelessness is 😢
