A quick Comparison of most of the ZVS Drivers available on eBay.

I bought all but one of the ZVS drivers found on eBay and I'll be putting them to work in future videos, but I thought to briefly share what I've learned; they nearly all use the same IRFP260N MOSFETs and 0.33 uF MKPH capacitors rated at 1200 VDC, the capacitors are also available on eBay and great for high voltage/power/pulse applications like coilguns and Tesla coils.

  • No. Re: "given the same frequency, doubling the capacitors doubles the current" That's not true. More capacitance equals LOWER frequency.
  • Doubling the capacitance REDUCES frequency by 1/(sqrt 2). Voltage does not depend on this.

the 3rd to last ZVS driver happily does 48-56VDC without issue. I am using the same driver on a ZVS DRSSTC. The higher the capacitance the lower the resonant frequency, the higher the current draw. I have mine running at ~86nF on the MOSFETs. The setup can run for 1-2 minutes before needing to cool down.

Any available producing 3-1kV and 0.5A? Direct current output?
