⚡️The Bucket Drill: Cordless Battery Upgrade!⚡️

Published 2022-09-16
In this video, I replace a failed cordless drill battery with an automotive-style battery to get the drill back In service with Increased battery life

If anybody asks, I do not recommend anyone, under any circumstances, or for any reason, to ever replicate, or attempt to replicate, the shenanigans portrayed in this video. This was a test conducted in accordance with the strict supervisory procedures and protocols put forth by me, to me and for me with regard to me own safety. Or something like that.

It's best to put a nice size zip tie on the cord inside the housing to prevent the cord from pulling off the terminal connectors. It was smart to pull the li-ion cell connector strips off. With the cells in the housing, they may prevent the cord from pulling the connections with the cord's 90° bends, but if it doesn't hold, use the zip tie mentioned and face the locking end so it doesn't interfere with getting the cells in. I think it was a 20V battery pack so it's cool that 12V works. One or two smaller 4" zip tie locking ends may fit better. It's the locking end that won't fit through the drilled cord hole. Nope, you now have a corded cordless drill. 😁 Glad it worked for you! Much cheaper than a replacement battery pack, likely even if you have to buy a 12V battery.

Sweet corded cordless drill! I wonder if the extra amperage gives it more torque?
