I've been a mad U2 fan since 1982 when I first heard of them as a 13 yr old....I watched Live Aid...live, as a 15 yr old, just to see Queen and U2.....I've seen U2 live in concert a few times. I saw them on the Pop Mart tour in Brisbane in 1997 when they dedicated this to Michael Hutchence and yet this may still be my favourite version of this...MJB is amazing

Every time I listen to Mary J Blige's vocals on this version, I am stunned at how powerful and deep the emotion comes across, masterful, talented, and amazing. Her vocal lift on the lyric around 1:15 hints at what is coming back at 2:15 and then the vocal explosion at 3:00 through to the finale. A beautiful, soulful, and powerful performance, one of absolute favorites.
