The US and Saudi Arabia are close to finalising a defence pact aimed at a potential normalisation of ties between Riyadh and Israel. The agreement would see Riyadh receive military protection from the US in exchange for closer ties with Israel. A key sticking point is the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Following the destruction in Gaza, the kingdom is demanding Israel to end the war and agree to a pathway for a Palestinian state.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has previously rejected such proposals. The US and Saudi Arabia are reportedly planning to pressure Israeli PM Netanyahu by offering him a stark choice: join the deal and gain a new diplomatic ally and substantial investments, or be left behind and lose those benefits. They are even prepared to move forward without Israel if necessary.

But why? Why can't Ghana lobby for the her heritage to remain at home where it belongs? Why do colonizers always fight to keep what they slole? France is fighting to keep West Africa rights to print their own money? How is this not continued colonization?
