This is the future. I have a 36 volt Makita that I keep in a box in the back of my Gator. It has a 14 inch bar on it. I'm not felling trees with it, but it's a beast for limbing. Imagine having that DeWalt behind your seat for an emergency. You don't have to worry about fuel or hard starting. Just get to it! Great video, best of luck with the saw!
  • That New Gal Sure Has No Problem Making Beaver Bis-K-its, Thanks Vic ! Hap-E Labor Day Bud ! ATB T God Bless
  • Would love to see an update and opinion on this. I just purchased the 18" for around the home kind of work.

How about performance and how many cuts you'll do on battery? It the battery overheating or not at all?

Wondering how long the 15amp battery will last with constant cutting?
  • Nice review, bought one, delivered yesterday. I fully charged the battery, then whet and cut to cut some 18" tree! Cut GREAT, but after about 6 cuts (battery still 2/3 charged), the saw does the self turn-off thing. Pull the trigger it starts cutting again, but apply any pressure and it keep turning off. I'm not pushing hard, but it keeps acting like the battery is low and turns off. Frustrating! Are you having the same problem?

I love Milwaukee chainsaw but Milwaukee does not make 20" saw. DeWalt is built for power and tough. This is a great saw. Harbor Freight 18" saw is great and the price wise is the best.
