This was an incredible encounter. I just happened to be in the right spot at the right time. It's very rare that everything comes together and we're able to document these types of encounters. We know it happens regularly with the common dolphins. But there's rarely someone there with their video camera focused and waiting for it to happen. Incredible morning on The Monterey Bay for me.

The owner of this footage predicted and commentated this perfectly haha it was like watching News broadcasters covering a high speed chase or game callers counting down the last seconds of a game. Thanks for sharing

Take note SeaWorld, that's what their dorsal fins are supposed to look like.

Did you know that dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish?

Lucky guy. That is a once in a lifetime encounter. Orcas are amazing predators

I lived in Monterey Bay for nearly 30 years, went out on boats and kayaks tons of times and never once saw anything like this. VERY cool!

This is so much more exciting than seeing them shut in tiny tanks performing to be fed.
  • That must have been breathtaking! Killer whales are so majestic and to see them in their natural habitat must feel incredible.

despite their names "killer whales" are actually dolphins too

00:54 almost looked like one of those over the top CGI moments in a typical modern Hollywood blockbuster. That was pretty epic.
  • During the stampede it seems like one goal is to be airborne as much of the time as possible, which makes perfect sense...

There is another world out there completely different from ours
  • Orcas rule the ocean. No one can go beyond them! You're so lucky to have a encounter like that. Once in a lifetime opportunity

WOW! That is some serious shit. Pure, unbridled display of nature.

That's a spectacular video.  Seeing it live must have been a highlight in your life.  What a great share.

This guy literally filmed something amazing. He wasn’t thinking about talking he was watching what was happening, he can’t control the audio he was out at sea. The lack of common sense in this comment section is insane. Y’all are acting like you knowing two facts about dolphins makes you the smartest guy in the room. Learn how too talk to people and you might actually get somewhere in this world.

This is the way Orcas and Dolphins are meant to be seen
