Fun fact: the Orc Gothmog was named after Gothmog, the Lord of the Balrogs. He was Captain of the Guard in service to the First Dark Lord of Middle-Earth, whom Sauron also served as the Second in Command of.
  • The fact that they hardly modified or changed anything about the Mouth of Sauron minifig says how good a figure the original was, certainly way ahead of its time.

Getting 600 dollar sets for free must be amazing.
  • @KerioFive
I wish Frodo and Sam were dirty or unique, I was expecting them to take the opportunity to make the orc disguise prints but no

Thank you for the deep dive Duck! I will watch this video every day until June 1st because I’m obsessed.

-Sauron needed the avatar arms and legs -Sam and Frodo needed new variants with orc disguise printing or just the simple tan shirts with straps they wear underneath (would’ve been nice to get an orc camp side build instead of a little piece of rock) -Gollum looks terrible besides the new garment mold -all the orcs are great

So I'm not a huge fan of DuckBricks at all, but that being said, I really do appreciate the fact that he made this video in particular. Most other sponsored reviews will gloss over the minifigures because they either don't appreciate how big a deal they really are, or simply have too much stuff to go over for the rest of the review. So clearly this guy understood and appreciated the amount of stuff that needed to be said and shown. As far as I'm concerned, the Sauron figure truly is the highlight of the set. Warts and all. It didn't even occur to me that he should have used tall legs and long arms, but I do agree that he should. Still not a make or break for me though. I do think we should have gotten a Witch King instead of a Mouth of Sauron, though. The figure is so unchanged and we have never gotten a Witch King minifigure (From LotR).
  • @tseantan
I think you meant the Mouth of Sauron when you said Witch King at the end, though I would love LEGO making an actual Witch King minifigure.
  • Can not wait to get this one! So glad to see another amazing review!!
  • This was an amazing set. First with Rivendell and now with Barad-dur…the age of rebirth for LEGO LOTR has begun. Realistically though, I feel like I would still get Rivendell (when I finally get enough cash for both that set and the D&D set) over this one because I’d really only buy this set for Sauron, the helmets and that Nazgûl with Fellbeast.
  • @georgejupp1840
Is there any reason why the Sauron helmet couldn’t be part of the orc helmet pack or added more pieces like a unique mace for Sauron
  • @GholaMuadDib
Great video. My favorite figure there, is Gothmog. I think the sword that Sam has, would be Sting. I think he was carrying it at that point. Along with the Phial of Galadriel. The Hobbit & The Lord Of The Rings is my second favorite book series. Next to Dune. I’m definitely getting this.
  • @elxiyrl9747
I feel like if he had the long legs/arms, then he would just look goofy.
  • @Watts1983
If they put those helmet packs on PaB I would buy a ton. Come on Lego, do it!
  • Ok so when looking at the old videogame version you ca also dee the helmet going over some of the torso. So unless they wanted to give him a head extention. I Think that is the reason that his helmet and shoulders became one piece. And giving sauron the larger body would mean his helmet would look tiny and especially the pauldrons. So they probably went with the choice of a small fig cause of the videogame and the proportions of the tall figures not fitting with the bulk of sauron.
  • What do you think next year's big boy will be? Now that we know this years will be barad-dur
