And they don’t save the scientist but the politicians. Which is exactly what the US would do.

Love how they are always 10 feet away from the disaster. Whether theyre running, diriving, in a boat or a plane, the disaster always follows them at exactly 10 feet away
  • As somebody that lives in Hawaii, I can confirm that Hawaii is only volcanic ash and lava right now.

This movie is my guilty pleasure, the plot is wild and ridiculously unbelievable. I'll always watch it.

It's not the greatest movie ever made but it's one of my all time favorites...

Like in all disaster movies.....they ignore the scientists at first. Just like in real life.

This was the most ridiculous big budget movie I've seen. It is totally unbelievable and silly, but I LOVE IT. Sometimes a movie doesn't need to make sense. Just turn off your brain and grab some popcorn.

This movie and The Day After Tomorrow catch unnecessary hate. A decade later they are still enjoyable rewatches. Maybe I'm just a sucker for apocalyse end of the world stuff.

This is exactly what the government would do when they know of a pending catastrophe. Save their own kind, and sacrifice as much as many people as possible for their own safety

The irony, in the end, they all returned to where it all started

Wilson is such a real one for staying with his people.
  • I still can't figure out how they went 11,000 feet underground in the timespan of a short conversation

Imagine trying to escape imminent death and ATC is still like "hey you cant take off, stay on the ground and die like the rest of us"

“The North Pole is now in Wisconsin“ — a line that will never be uttered again.

I'm just now thinking about this but... karpoff was the first to run in from the door but he and his sons were the last to board the ship? I don't think that's how that would work. But it was a fitting death so I'll look past it.

Did anyone else throw an apocalypse party on Dec. 21, 2012?
  • @WilliamJames48
If you saw this in 2012, then you saw it back in the day lol.
