Sacramento leaders react to Gov. Newsom's homeless executive order

Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg says he doesn't think the order will change what they do dramatically. He also stressed that with enforcement, there must also be connection to resources.

Maybe people need to ask where the 24 billion that is unaccounted for that was supposed to be spent on housing…. you cannot complain about where the homeless are going to go without questioning newsom about the money

If our country can help other countries & help immigrants then there should be no reason why they cannot help Americans even if they find some raw land acreage a little out of City limits and maybe with some water on the land and a fenced-in area or something where they can pitch their tents & live❤ Americans of the United States of America we're supposed to be a free country it just seems like everything's being taken away... It makes our country look not so good when our country really needs the help

They need more flexibility with the rules if they want more of the unhomed to comply. Bringing only one bag of their belongings for somebody who has “nothing” is a huge deal breaker for many. Also, the 10pm curfews at shelters, along with the feeling of not being safe at some of the coed ones are a few of the gripes I’ve heard most. All three seem like very simple fixes if they want to see more people accepting the assistance the city is trying to force them into.
