One of Elon's goals is to have 1000 operational Starship for his Mars colonization plans. Here is a short animation showing how a 1000 Starship in earth orbit look like. In reality they would obviously not fly so close.

I guess about 20 or so Starships per day can be launched. 50 days (window for launch every 26 (months) x 20 Starships per day =1000 Starships. How many launch pads will be? - Possibly less than 20 if they can do several launches from one launch pad per day. So we won't see 1000 Starships flying together so close to each other.

How about designing a docking ring for starships. Starships dock to it with their engines all facing one direction, they execute their transfer burn at the same time, and after that the ring starts spinning, creating gravity on the starships. yes, it would need to be a big ring, but it would only need to be a skeleton, just strong enough to withstand forces applied on it. And you could have some extra fuel on it in a cooled depot, so that the starships don't have to rely solely on their own fuel and can make an orbit burn at Mars. Though obviously this is just for the designing purpose, it would be better to create dedicated transfer ships with artificial gravity instead of using starships (for people).
