In this video I explain why troubleshooting a speaker circuit is different than troubleshooting a strobe or horn strobe circuit. The capacitors in speakers can make it difficult to decipher what your meter is telling you, and I try to guide you through that.

Most of your videos are like 8 years old but are still relevant in the field today. Thanks for the great content, it’s helped me out a ton being a “newer” tech.

Glad to see your back making videos Joe. Definitely will be catching up and taking notes over holiday break.

Hei Joe, just want to tell you is good to see you back and producing new videos. Maybe a idea for you, start a blog where all techs already connected to you, would post problems and solutions, so you may all grown together to serve better our customers. Have a good, thank you, and keep producing videos. May God bless you.

Excellent video. Think I will start having my apprentices watch your FA series. Save me from explaining it all, when someone else does it better anyways. :)

That was a great video, just my opinion but if you added those real life videos with the Kahn academy style teaching this could be a real game changer for Fire Alarm Techs/ Electricians. Thanks for the video.

Can you please make a video about synch modules and relays, to sync circuits..
  • Joe really appreciated and lots of respect and love from NZ, do you think you could someday show how to test the whole system as per your local standards or NFPA (please dont want to disrupt your flow of awesome learning resources), very much appreciated :-) , May the creator of heaven and earth look after you and your family, cheers :-)

Hey man! Happy New Years! your Vids are great amazing and very detail! I had a Question... regarding a SK5808 - Trouble that shows "SBUS Communications Dialer" nothing else on the screen display. I tried searching the forums but no luck

Merry Christmas Joe, do you have any videos on Properly wiring a notification appliance circuit? Since a notification Appliance circuit cannot be T tapped And must "double back". As a fire alarm designer I can conceptualize this on paper but have a hard time understanding what is actually going on in the field.
  • Joe can you please make a video series on the ECC 50/100 and the DVC that you can add on to a 320/640. Would like to know more about wiring options. 90% of the time I trigger my ECC 50/100 with a NAC terminal off the FACP. I know you can also trigger the Voice panel with a Control Module. I believe you have to set some things in programming like All Call. I haven't set one up using a Module yet and the manual is a little vague. Also would love to see some videos on adding ECC-RMs RPUs etc. The RPUs were easier but I was a little confused adding ECC-RMs to a 640 DVC
