Monday 12 PM Tropical Update: Future Ernesto moves toward Caribbean

A tropical wave in the Atlantic is expected to eventually become a hurricane this week. Steering currents should guide it north in the Atlantic away from the US. It could then become a hurricane by Wednesday as it passes over or near some of the northern Caribbean islands including Puerto Rico. It may be able to reach Category 2 status by Thursday.
