I’m tired of Jack Curry saying every deadline and off-season after their “big move” saying “that’s not all the yanks are going to do, I hearing something big is in the works” and then….. nothing happens

Judge has the 8th best OPS EVER and they have given him no help to win a world series in his prime years

Brian Cashman best hits of the last 10 years: 2017 Deadline: He refuses to give up enough prospects for Verlander, Astros swoop in last minute to get him and he dominated the Yankees in Games 2 and 6 of the ALCS. 2019: He doesn't have enough starting pitchers and the Yankees had to use Chad Green as an opener in ALCS Game 6. He promptly gave up a 1st inning 3-run homer to Yuli Gurriel. 2021-2022 Off-Season: He refuses to include Oswald Peraza and Anthony Volpe (who each have a career OPS under .700) in a trade package for Matt Olson, who hit 88 home runs in 2022 and 2023 combined. Yankees had a lifeless offense all season outside of Aaron Judge and got humiliated in the ALCS. 2022 Deadline: Refuses to trade Volpe for Luis Castillo, instead trades for an injured Frankie Montas. And here we are in 2024, not a single one of those prospects he held on to turned into a great hitter.

The most telling article I've read about the Yankees approach to roster building was the one I read in spring training which claimed that Cashman low-balling the free agents they were interested in. He's ALWAYS low balling everyone in trades as well. That's why we end up with a handful of middle relief pitchers with a 4.5 era.

like every year Yanks counting on injured players coming back as our biggest trade deadline additions. Hal and Cashman really thinks the team that was set up in Spring is gonna win it all and if it doesn't, theyll just kick the dirt and say darn our luck. I'm not even mad we didn't acquire Flaherty. I am upset that he didn't trade Cortes and Torres and thinks just because Jazz is athletic that you can just hand him a 3B glove for the first time and not miss a beat. Enough half measures, excuses, and taking no accountability for failures
  • Cubs fan here, Leiter is to be treated like a lefty. He gets lefties out.
  • - Lacking a deep bullpen - Shaky closer that relies on good fielding - Volatile starting pitching and no depth - A huge weakness against lefty arms - 1 lefty in the pen right now, the second is probably Nestor - A terrible second baseman, a rookie 1st baseman, a first time 3rd baseman. That's a pretty large issue made even larger when you look at problem number 2. - The infield depth is basically just Waldo because DJ is sadly done - The outfield depth is essentially Jazz and Domínguez. Which again doesn't bode well against lefty arms.

What were we expecting, this is Brian Cashman we're talking about. The king of bargin bin hunting.
  • @RottenPretzel42
Imagine wasting a year of two generational hitters in their prime probably because "The cost was too high, we have the guys we need, It'S rIgHt In FrOnT oF uS, Effross, Schmidt, Stanton and The Martian is our deadline" - As Joez's shirt says "Let's be the yankees" fml
  • @frontier6937
THIS IS A YOUNG MAN'S GAME. No more old free agents - they die before the finish line.
  • @the_beef4762
Hope De Los Santos works out better for you guys. I wouldn’t count on it though.
  • Lol when Ian Hamilton Nick Burdi come back, Cash and Boone will be singing the whole 'thats like a trade' tune
  • @readylauretti
If we are trying to keep Soto, a lot of this makes sense. Can’t get big guys with big contracts if we want to sign Soto to a long extension
  • @Schwizzzz
It’s almost like cash has been a major issue for multiple years…. Can’t develop talent, can’t put together a modern roster, holds onto prospects, and it goes on and on. Cant wait to hear Kay defend this atrocity.
  • @scottclark6685
Truly believe Cash said, "we have Hamilton and Effross coming back soon, we'll be ok". It seems like Cash always thinks things will work themselves out as opposed to going out and fixing it himself. I'm sure he had deals that were contingent on other deals and one failed the whole house of cards fell.
  • I know Yankee fans don’t want to hear this but this is the Dodgers’ year to win it all they have to. After what happened to them these last two years in the playoffs , investing in half a billion for two players they absolutely have to win this year. The dodgers not winning would be one the biggest disappointment in all the major sports , this is their year and that’s it.

cashman should take more risk knowing his job is secure. cowboys of the mlb.
