You're Supposed to Rule the World (Here's How)

This video on the Image of God traces the idea of humans as co-rulers alongside God, who are commissioned to develop the world and its resources and take it into new horizons. How has this human vocation been compromised by our selfishness and evil, and how did Jesus open up a new way of being human through his life, death, and resurrection?

  • I stayed away from Christianity for so long because of other so-called Christians. They were hypocrites in my eyes -- preaching one thing, but their lives showed differently...getting drunk at parties, beating each other up on a Saturday night and then showing up with a hangover while putting on their Sunday best at church. Those were my examples growing up. Once a "real" Christian came into my life (one who truly practiced the teachings of Jesus by showing me the Fruits of the Spirit through her life -- patience, kindness, not boasting, not easily angered, loving your neighbor as yourself, etc.) -- I decided to maybe give the "good book" a chance. I started reading the Bible to prove to her that Christianity was not real. I gave her 40 pages of my Native Spirituality beliefs and teaching to show her why I my religion was superior. She read every bit of it and was patient with me as I shared my beliefs at the time. I mean, my religion didn't send Crusaders around the world to kill people if they didn't believe in The Great Spirit. I used to see Christianity as "the white man's religion" (I am Native American) and had heard stories of the praying Indians, all women and children, who were put into longhouses and burned alive for their devotion instead of rewarded. That is what becoming Christians got them -- just because they were Native peoples. What I didn't realize was that it was the PEOPLE in those times who were evil and wrong who professed the idea of "manifest destiny," -- NOT Jesus or God or Christianity itself. When I met my Christian friend who truly showed me how to walk with Jesus and not just proclaim to know Him, I realized that many times PEOPLE are flawed, but Jesus is not. I am now a practicing Christian who LIVES MY LIFE for Jesus and helping others come to know Him. It doesn't matter the color of your skin, where you come from, how you were raised or how much money you make -- God loves you! He created you for great things! It is only Satan who gets in the way of helping others see who Jesus really is and how much He loves you! Sometimes those who claim to know Jesus, don't do a good job of getting out of the way enough to let Him shine for others to see! Thank you so much for the Bible Project. I now help others read the Bible and come to know the Lord and His plans for them and your videos really break things down simplistically so even those who don't know who Jesus is, can start to understand and want to search even more and deeper through the Bible. God bless you and your work! I know you are changing lives daily!
  • It gives me goosebumps how God made so much effort to save his people, even if we don’t deserve it 🙌🏾😭

"God has already made images of himself". Wow, I think I am enlightened.
  • @WilliamMcAdams
This made me cry. Not even going to lie. The thought of God returning us to rule, after we've messed up so badly is so moving. Our Father truly loves us.

Made me laugh that there's a furby at 3:48 as one of the "consequences of all of humanity's evil" 😂 Truly an incredible video, excellent work with the narrative as well as the animation! Literally doing God's work :
  • @KeketsoN01
I cant get over how timeless these animations are, they're just as eye-catching and relevant just as they were 5 years ago

  • @carmenjacobo460
This makes me crave the second coming and being able to participate in the new humanity. Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice! Thank you God for your love and may we always allow you to define good and evil for us.
  • I cannot thank you enough for this specific video. I experienced a breakthrough in my perception of people and myself through this video. Especially the part where it said, “People aren’t to make Images of God because God has already made Images of Himself” which is us! And when I love and serve people, I am loving God and serving Him. I know I knew that in my brain but it hit me in my heart and spirit today through your precious video which I believe has been created so prayerfully and with the help of the Holy Spirit. So THANK YOU & may God continue to BLESS YOU, the Bible Project Team!🙏🏼😊Praise Jesus Christ!!!🙌🏼

I know this video is 4 years old, but I have had a stutter which has caused me a lot of anxiety. It’s gotten a lot better, but my anxiety would still be there. I feel so much better after watching this video. It makes me feel so grateful and at peace.
