Titanic and the Californian in a nutshell Californian: Hi I just wanna say ther- Titanic: shut up I’m busy
  • Let's remember the lives that was lost here. The kids and the mothers that kissed their family good bye or held their frozen babies while freezing to death. SO sad!
  • @mikey-dh9bw
there was a 14 year old boy who was forced off a boat with not even quarter the the boat filled when the boats are designed for 65-70 people. The person who forced him off (Murdoch or Phillips) drew his gun on the boy and told him to be a man. When he got off the boat a little girl was pleading with the man not to shoot him. All because he was a 3rd class passenger. That's effed up

Titanic: I'm unsinkable. Iceberg: Is that so? Titanic: Sure is. Iceberg: A spot in history is waiting for you. Titanic: What? * CCCRRRRAAAASSSSHHHH *
  • The Titanic crew should've listened the other ships warning about the iceberg and slowed down or made a complete stop and waited until the next day.

Titanic and Olympic were sisters, not twins. In fact the RMS Olympic was noticeably different then the Titanic. I find it hard to believe no one would’ve noticed a different ship sailing.
  • @imaginerose
The Titanic issuing a response that read "Shut up, im busy" sounds like the most american thing possible
  • @criticwatcher
Titanic crew was more at fault. They chose to ignore the iceberg warnings.
  • I have been examining the titanic for years now and I can 100% say................ There was room for two on the wood!
  • @daverees8644
My mates great grandmother was on the titanic as a child, i will never forget the stories my mate told me 😟
  • 5: the Titanic's Marconi wireless operator Jack Phillips was literally overloaded with ship and other correspondence which is why that reply was given. His assistant Harold Bride did pass on messages of iceberg warnings to the Captain. Why Smith didn't heed the warnings better? We will never know. 4: J Bruce Ismay had no say on the Titanic, Smith had the final say. Also Smith turned more southerly to try and avoid any ice and get into clearer waters. About the conditions that night: it was a very calm, windless, cloudless, moonless night. There was a radio message sent out that said something like "weather is pleasant" (at least for a cold night). Due to the weather conditions, there were no waves breaking at the base of bergs to make them easier to spot. The lookouts later described the iceberg as "an absence of stars on the horizon", meaning it was so dark that they were nearly on top of the berg as they identified it. Binoculars of the day would not have helped as much as people would think. Its still very dark and the cold air mirage did not help either. Funny enough, its not believed that First Officer Murdoch actually saw the iceberg moments before the lookouts did. 3: the passengers were not concerned at first because nothing seemed off at the time. Hardly anybody noticed the list in the decks until the ship was at a more noticeable angle. Hardly anyone thought they were in danger so they simply did not get up to the boat deck at first. It didn't help that Officer Lightoller followed the "women and children first" as "women and children only", as he denied men seats on boats when there was plenty of room. Murdoch however let anyone on if they were willing to go. 2: massive fire? What, like an uncontrollable roaring blaze? That smoldering coal maybe reached 750 degrees F and the steel making up the bunkers was rated for heat of up to 1200 degrees F. The steel dented a little but after it cooled off, it was rigid and strong again. Also the firemen were working to move coal from the affected bunker to others and eventually the smoldering coal was simply burned up in a furnace and dealt with. That black streak is above the coal bunker doors. The ships are painted black to hide the streaks of coal dust and other unsightly blemishes gained when recoaling. If you are unaware, coal is very dirty and very black. If you don't believe me, check out some images of the Britannic before she sank. Very dirty streaks along her hull as a white hospital ship. End of story. 5: I cannot stress this enough. Whatever logic you apply to this absurd theory, one constant remains: time. You see, the Olympic took something like 44 days for repairs when it was damaged by the Hawke. This is a fact. Titanic took something like 8 months just for fitting out. In order for a switch to be successful, you would have to literally take everything labeled "400" and switch it with "401". Why is that important? Those are the numbers designated by the shipyard, basically a serial number. Everything built on the Olympic shared the number 400 while everything on Titanic was 401. Not to mention Titanic had entirely different deck plans so the ships were not identical. You're telling me they swapped all the different machinery and decks, all the little items, in 44 days? In the actual time it would take to do that for real, you may as well build a new ship. From scratch. Titanic rests at the bottom of the Atlantic due to a tragic chain of events, Olympic had a nice long service life but was scrapped in the 30s. There ya go, a furry just debunked every one of these so-called "crazy facts". Just don't bring up the stupid v-break theory, I'll have to start linking some videos that debunk that too.

Titanic: I am unsinkable Iceberg: challenge excepted

wireless operators DID NOT say shut up to the Californian. they said keep out old man, common response for the time messages didn't always go to the bridge because of not featuring the designated call sign for such. wireless operators did not work for White Star Line, they worked for the telegraph and were for passengers use primarily. lookouts didn't require binoculars, as they were high enough up to have sufficient view and having such would have restricted views. likewise, there was wind screen around the crow's-nest to keep the wind off of them. lifeboat numbers were well above legal sailing standards for the time, with lack of boat drills and practice. fewer people made their way to boats before it was clear they really were sinking. fire had no play in it's sinking. the bunker under fire was put out well before the sinking. it's hull strength was not compromised. the marking referred to are well forward of the location. coal fires were common in that time, and with a coal strike under way, it would not have been good to spay them with water and ruin what coal they did have and for the last time people TITANIC WAS NOT SWITCHED. the two were NOT identical, and specific features linked ONLY to the Titanic can clearly be seen at the wreck. as well as the name plate has been fully filmed at the wreck. the letters were carved INTO the steel, not mounted on top of. in order for a switch to take place, the entire city of Belfast would have to have been behind it, as it would have all been done in full view of the public. likewise, the story originates from a Irish drunk named Paddy the pig, who claimed to have worked on the switch. however, there are absolutely no records of the man having ever worked for Harland and Wolff shipyards.

The Titanic and Olympic definitely did not switch. They were not identical therefore they would have had to switch out both of the interiors in just 44 days since Titanic was almost complete its construction. And also if the captin knew he was to crash it on purpose, he would have insisted on enough lifeboats so that he wouldnt be on a literal suicide mission. None of it adds up at all so the switch very likely did not happen
  • @markmatafeo7870
There was a fire on board in one of the coal storage bunkers. The day Titanic sailed for NY.
  • @KevinJhonson
One of the reasons there was not enough lifeboats was because Mr Ismay said it would be too crowded with 48 lifeboats. So instead, they put 20.
