Miyamoto Iori (宮本 伊織) is the Master of Saber in the Waxing Moon Ritual of Fate/Samurai Remnant. 二天を継ぐ者

Miyamoto Iori Sadatsugu is the student and adopted son of Miyamoto Musashi. He is a ronin living in Asakusa, Edo, who studied the Niten Ichiryu style of swordsmanship, but Musashi passed away before he could teach him the secrets of the art. Still seeking to master the Way of the sword, he spends his days training while making ends meet.

Iori was born in a small, port town. As a child, the town was raided by bandits known as the Yagorou Gang and everyone was killed. Because the bandit leader happened to like kids, he spared Iori, taking him in as a servant boy, but Iori knew that the bandit would eventually kill him too once he got bored. Shortly after this, the bandit group encountered Miyamoto Musashi, who went on to wipe out all 84 men singlehandedly, as well as adopt Iori.

Miyamoto Iori, someone who crazy enough (like Shirou) to fight a Servant because he wanted to pushed himself to his absolute limits.

Fun fact. First Iori was a one of servant candidate that teco choose to present them to Typemoon about their new game. Then Nasu saw Iori name and was like “Hey we got musashi student here. Let’s make him protagonist of new game” and then we have Samurai remnant

"Umareru jidai o, machigaeta" One of saddest line in fate franchise. I get his feeling, after Waxing moon there's nothing left he can do as a swordman in peaceful era. Rather than rotting away, he choose glorious end by challenging strongest swordman even if it's means selfishly betraying every expectations everyone put to him including his own partner

The shit this man did as a normal human.... it's fucking insane. If he doesn't end up as a servant in FGO that makes all sword masters sweat, Ima be upset.

Congrats Iori you joined club of TM MC who have amazing themes.

For those not in the know Servants are supposed to be wayyyy more strong the ordinary mages. Its why shiro from stay night got the absolute shit beat out of him and nearly died the entire war despite surviving Its a testament to how nightmarish iori trained himself, learning from his words miyamoto and kojiro,to the point he was able to stall or even body other servants. That is insane considering that in the final boss of the bad ending, saber, iori was fighting aganst what might as well be his worst matchup given hes a mere mortal with unholy strength aganst the only mortal wielder of one of japans most powerful relics And he got a mutual kill out of that. It took a mutual kill BY A SERVANT to put him down. That is huge considering takeru was a heavy hitter, especially due to his noble phantasm being kusanagi, and 1v1,what happened was a mutual kill, holding back be dammed.

Musashi founded the Niten Ichi-ryū (二天一流) school of swordsmanship; a Martial Art that involved the dual-wielding of a katana and wakizashi

I feel like i've seen a lot of people downplaying Iori's feats in this game. Sure him beating Musashi and nearly beating the final boss of the true ending solo could be seen as both parties holding back against him, but when he SPOILERS went into saber's mind thing he fought against them under their trance and would have no reason nor will to hold back against him at that point. Granted, Saber didn't use their NP, but other than that he was fighting a servant that was genuinely out to kill him. Even if they ended the fight without a clear victor, the fact that he lasted that long against Saber in that state shows how strong he is.
  • @Stellarheim
He could actually go toe to toe against his Saber (not to mention Musashi). A mortal man against one of the strongest heroic spirits. If someone summons Iori as a servant - that would be truly fearful.
  • @najumikek
iori using dual tsubame gaeshi is just cool ... hoping we get iori in fgo with this being his np..

"How wonderful would it be if you could forget your wish?" Man, hearing this song at the end made me so emotional. Not only because of the story, the characters, and the journey itself, but it made me think of the reason why I'm such a huge FATE fan and why I'll continue to be. I'll keep playing all of the FATE games until I can't anymore so that my friend can live the experience through me. Without her, I don't think this series would hold such a special place in my heart.

In game canon we can assume that whole Waxing Moon Ritual happen maybe 2-3 week ingame time because of day-night circle we saw. So iori went from running away from servant to fight toe to toe with them in fucking less than month. If he got summon as a servant just give him a grand candidate
  • @bloodhunter07
Musashi: now my cute disciple/son show me how much you've improved my style in this death match Iori: i cast sobamigaishi Musashi: nani (is this karma?)
  • @hwari3725
I respect Iori's strength. At least he went all out doing what he was happy with.
  • @licota11
Just got the true ending. I thought I was gonna be playing an above average anime spinoff. Ended up being one of my favorite games of the year. I honestly enjoyed it more than XVI. Omega Force and Type-Moon knocked it out of the park.
  • He is literally the strongest swordsman of human history by the end of F/SR but fate dictated him to be born in the wrong age

I love when video game swordsman have to come their inner self like cold steel
