Wolfe Ridge 17VS on the Road - Vertical Log Splitter Road Trip with Some Ugly Rounds!

Published 2024-06-26
Today for #WolfeRidgeWednesday we go on the road with the 17VS Vertical Log Splitter. We talk about the ease of towing, split some wood, and save an ugly stump piece for the end of the video.

The 17VS in this video is the standard configuration with added optional LED taillights and overhead LED flood lights. The 17VS is also available with an attached conveyor and upgraded engine - the 17VS-C. Additionally we just released the 17VS-E which is powered by a single phase electric motor.

I spent today, one of the hotter humid days, out splitting with the 17VS. Never had any intentions of even splitting wood today. I ended up filling a stacked basket and was drenched in sweat. Great workout and a blast of a machine to run. Thank you Bob!

Another great video Bob, keep making more. Awesome equipment guys!!

At 23:36 when you let the one log laying down have it about 3 times before it gave in was pretty funny. Have to add that to my repertoire for those twisted ones :-)

Just brought the same splitter home from Faith Farm in NC. Now I gotta get to work!
  • Good video 👍 Thank you for showing how the 17VS trails behind your pickup. That last part showing the trunk rounds was nasty and gnarly 😂 Good splitting
  • This is the real world use that I want to see. Splitters being used.

:) twist it, flip it, turn it, flop it, spin it, rotate it, - 17vs is WAY more fun than a horizontal. Good vid, Bob! Excellent point at end (not worth it).

I hate to sound whiny, but you guys have got to update the "17VS:" decal - It looks homemade while all of your other branding / decals look great, very professional
  • I tow my SHO all the time, and i get looked at just about every time it leaves the yard. I can say it tracks behind the truck at 70mph no problem..

Great job Bob, I was waiting for this video. I wonder if you could do the 17 VSC show us how good that tows down the road. i’m very interested in the 17 VSC thank you. Hope to see it in a video coming up soon.

Love these videos! I’m very interested in this machine primarily for smokers and fire pits. I’m curious what the process would be for making chunks…split and then take it to a bandsaw or some other saw or start out with smaller rounds?
