I’ve just disembarked a cruise on one of the most luxurious and expensive superyachts in the world where I saw and did things that I didn’t know could happen on cruises.
The ship was the Emerald Azzurra built in 2022 and the advertising promises that guests can “experience a billionaire lifestyle without the price tag”. I don’t know what a billionaires lifestyle is like, but this ship blew my mind. To say we had ups and downs, would be an understatement, literally.
For years I’ve cruised with the budget and mainstream cruise lines, usually in the cheapest inside cabins but a cruise on a yacht has of course, always been on my bucket list. When a friend who used to work for Emerald reached out and asked ‘Hey Emma, would you like to try a cruise on a yacht’ I didn’t have to think for a second. That isn’t the kinda question you delay on answering.
Before this cruise, I didn’t know what to expect. I’d heard great things about the included excursions and the watersports platform but even yacht cruises have 1 star reviews. I had no idea if I’d fit in on a cruise like this, I didn’t know what would be included and I wondered if I’d ever be able to go back to cruising in a cheap inside cabin after being on a yacht. Would it change me forever?
We flew from London to Athens to board this ship and our itinerary would take us around the greek islands, ending in Rhodes. The cruise was 7 nights long and it was over my dad's birthday so I decided to take him away to celebrate, this seemed like the best birthday present I could ever give, or so I hoped. I have no idea what I’ll get him next year to top this.

You mentioned the 'Aussie Burger', well here in Oz we call it a "Works Burger". It has the fired egg, beetroot, pineapple, tomato, lettuce, onions, meat patty and bacon with BBQ sauce! It's a must ;-)

American here! It's pretty common here to either have a burger topped with a fried egg available at restaurants (sometimes called a breakfast burger or hangover burger on the menu) or have the option to add a fried egg to a burger for an additional charge. I've never seen it referred to as Australian style, though.

I can’t believe a drinks package is an extra cost on yacht trip that expensive! Emma, you should look into going on a small yacht charter with your family and or friends, where everything is included and you are the only guests.

Oh my! The kittens are so lovely, I I also would have wanted to take them home. I probably would’ve gotten in trouble because I would’ve tried to smuggle them aboard.😻
