I love missing events that wont happen for another 20 years because of bad weather.
  • I was outside in a crowd where it was clouded and some dude shouted “DID I FUCKING TRAVEL A MILE FOR CLOUDS” Truly an eclipse moment
  • @heartmermaidat
Someone played the "2001: A Space Odyssey" theme when the eclipse started. Truly a fitting song, because no matter how much evolution we go through we still default to monkey mode when bright thing goes dark
  • Shoutout to the stranger who got done looking at the eclipse, handed me his eclipse glasses and walked away (I couldn't get a pair of glasses in time). You're a real one, whoever you are
  • @DirtyHairy1
when a full eclipse appeared in my region, I called in sick and got fired. Would do again 10/10
  • I was reading a book and it suddenly became difficult to read the pages. I looked outside and wondered why it was dark since their were no clouds. Got annoyed and turned on a light to finish reading. That was my eclipse experience.
  • I'm in the path of totality and honestly hearing all the neighborhood kids do that "scream all at once because something is happening in the sky" thing was very fulfilling

I clocked into work an hour ago, right as it was happening. Thought I was going blind cuz it was getting really dark. HR comes out to the floor and I explained my concerns. He laughed and said the eclipse was happening. He pulled out hos special glasses and told me to stop working and go take a look. It was definitely a thing of all time. Very whelming.

jokes on you, i’ve damaged my vision
  • @pin9326
I literally had my math test through the entire eclipse lol
  • @BilfroDog
As someone who experience totality, it was otherworldly.

I’m glad my school had a special schedule for the eclipse and gave us glasses for free :)

I live right in the center of the line of eclipse and it was crazy. The rest of the day feels weird now, like night time already passed

I travelled 6 hours away for the eclipse. It was overcast. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

i was in the path of totality, clear skies, it was awesome. this was the first one in my area in 120 years :D the way it tones down everything around you as it gets closer to totality is almost surreal, its not the kind of darkness you see before the sun sets, it's strange. and when the totality hit it was just unbelievable

I went somewhere to see it and luckily there were like 0 clouds and it was genuinely amazing. It literally looked like a black hole was in the sky or something crazy like that. I was also able to see some stars. I wouldn't call it an amazing and life changing experience, but it was really cool and a lot better than watching it online.

"Oh my gosh, there's a man carrying thing video right now! It's supposed to be one of the most impactful and spiritual moments of your whole life!"
  • @male4047
As someone who is not anywhere near even a fraction of the eclipse. I feel this
  • I travelled 3 hours to get into the path of totality (100% eclipse). It was beautiful and absolutely worth the trip. Looked like a black hole with a white fire ring around it.

You left out the part where I actually looked at it for half a second without the special glasses and regretted it for about 3 minutes or so.
