How an 80 Year Old KS-19 Transformed in Self-Propelled Howitzer on Pokrovsk

We are on the Pokrovsk direction in the Donetsk region. We are working together with the 111th Territorial Defense Brigade on the front line. We managed to capture the operation of an unusual strike unit: an 80-year-old anti-aircraft gun that has been converted into a self-propelled artillery unit (SPG). Just imagine: the machine is 80 years old. And it still works on the front line. But today, artillery is not just the gun itself. It works in conjunction with UAVs and a command center, which helps locate targets and adjust fire.

  • I love vehicles where older weapons are given a new lease of life. In this case by taking a stationary gun and giving it much needed mobility. Recycling at its finest, really shows 🇺🇦 ingenuity

Those who compare this conflict to WW1 really do not take into account the real time reconnaissance dozens of kilometers deep, as well as all the guided munitions.

  • Self propelled Artillery is invaluable on the battlefield. The farmer and the Wolf. The framer does not go into the forest and shoot the Wolf. Instead he lays bait patiently along the way, to the holding pen in his barn for the Trapped wolf.

In fact, Ukraine can change anything, such as modifying old tanks and sending them to the front lines

For the first time in their history, the inhabitants of the outskirts had a chance to prove their maturity as a state-forming nation, to become a support and protection for all peoples and nationalities living with them in the same country. For the outskirts, like the rest of the former republics of the USSR, freedom and independence fell from heaven into our hands. The residents of the outskirts did not have to fight for it like, for example, the Americans. The outskirts, having received from the hands of Russia a fully formed, richest state, showed black ingratitude, and immediately began to spit in this hand. Having gained freedom, the inhabitants of the outskirts decided to build a “nation” and “country” on foreign land and on the basis of other peoples, and did not give the freedom to choose autonomy to other peoples living with them - Hungarians, Romanians, Hutsuls, Poles, Greeks, Russians, Tatars. Outskirts, with amazing tenacity, are trying to force the ideas of Bandera and Shukhevych, ideas of the 19th century, onto people of the 21st century. And because of their caveman, some kind of simply zoological nationalism, which mutated into direct Nazism, as soon as power fell into their hands, they miserably missed this historical chance to build their own independent state...
