Mount a clamp on back of axe head tight but with no damage to axe head with drilling. Then drill threaded hole in clamp just back of axe heal. Then thread a eye bolt in threaded hole of clamp. When sharp just remove clamp. Using clamp makes your system work on any axe head without damage of drilling.

The problem with the strop is that it is soft and actually rounds off the end, it breaks off the wire which is good. Take a softwood scap of wood and put some metal polish on it and use that, keep polishing until you start shaving fine ribbons off the wood. The hatchet is good for felling or carpentry but using it for limbing would damage the fine edge you put on it. You could also use a magnet instead of drilling a hole in it.

I don't use an axe for cutting paper! You didn't either, a 30° angle I think would be better for an axe.

А рубить как? При таком угле заточки топор будет вязнуть в дереве не расщепляя его. Нож должен резать, топор - рубить!

Why so sharp? If you use that as an axe it will go blunt very quickly. Axe heads use a rounded shoulder because of that. Or are you a ninja? 😂
