The Korean gov is fighting the problem the wrong way, doing everything else but addressing the root of the problem. Overworked people who earn an average income while living costs are rising & they cannot spend time with loved ones, either because they're working late or too tired from work. Smh

Hiring help to work at the farm and care for your parents is expensive, getting a wife is cheaper... poor women
  • If the men is looking for future wife to help in farming, do housework & taking care of old parents, they aren't looking for wife, more like looking for maid.

Not all foreign marriage ends up bad, my mom was Vietnamese and Dad is MexAm, they met during Vietnam war, my dad was rotated out but promise to find her, it took him 7 years and 2 of my sibling and finally located my mom in a refugee camp in Hong Kong in 1979, they were together until her death in 2004. Real love do exist outside language barrier.

These women watch kdramas and think everyone in Korea lives in nice homes and are well-off. But Many of these men live in the countryside and are looking for farmer wives. I would never marry someone I couldn’t communicate with
  • @Mia-cc9bm
Maid is the correct word to describe ALL the hard work Vietnamese women do in Korea. No wonder so many of them run away

getting married in less than 24 hr after first meeting?! its a crazy and desperate world out there being taken advantage by unscrupulous match-making agencies
  • The korean government should do more to promote marriage. If you want young people to have children, then do more to support them. Pass labor laws to require only 40 hrs/per week for all workers, offer free child care for all families to release financial stress, etc.

Around 2000s many women who were married to Koreans run away from Korea and told their horror stories. For some time our Newspapers were full of such interviews and their reason of escape. Such agencies are now illegal in our country, it's considered as human trafficking now.

The truth be told - Korean men are not looking for a partner alone, they are looking for a woman who will look after them, their children, and their parents so the responsibilities that his places on Korean women is immense. This is why they are not getting married. This is a Confucian culture.

My classmate in college also got into this. She is now working in his farm. The Korean guy is also older like 54 yrs old. She was 24 or 25 when they got married

Good luck for Tien, hopefully her husband is kind and loving and love will grow for them.

It's always the Bribe who has to learn the Groom's language and culture. Never the other way around. Lord help these women.
  • @keithedwards4456
Men who are not capable of convincing their own women to marry them usually do not have a very compelling case. Not everyone is meant to be married.

Guy: “How old are you?” Girl: “37” Guy: “37?!” 😂

Looking at the video around 9:02, I’m Vietnamese and it’s true, a lot of Vietnamese parents, but not all, see their children as retirement and money accounts.
  • @jumpiam8477
It's too risky. They can't even communicate to each other. He is looking for a maid, not a wife. To Vietnamese women, you can do better than these. Most of them are strong and hard working. Korean men should treat them well.
  • @christine9122
I hope these men know that Vietnamese women are strong women. If they want someone to take care of their parents and do household chores for them, they should hire people to do that, not wife them up. Also, it's easy to promise monetary support and not accomplish them. The Korean government should also establish policies to protect these women. PUT. EVERYTHING. INTO. WRITING.
