Home Secretary Yvette Cooper condemned the shocking scenes of violence that erupted and were widely shared on social media Thursday evening. She warned that those behind the "audacious criminality" would "face the full force of the law."
On Friday, Roma community representatives met with Leeds City Council to "express concerns about a family matter" from July 18.
Previously, police reported being called around 5 pm on Thursday after social workers faced hostility while dealing with a child protection issue. Responding officers were attacked but managed to help the social workers reach safety.

The rioters did not care about that family. They used it as an excuse
-
Attacking police and social workers for protection kids is crazy
-
They're not protesting about the child being taken away, it's the loss of child benefit & tax credits that follows is their main beef đ

Phillip. The problem is we have way too many illegal immigrants in our country.

An area in England that has no English is called a diverse area, I would call that an utterly failed area.
-
People don't come to England because they love the country they come here for money, council housing and the benefits they get
-
Rather than adapting to the Countries culture we have to adapt to theirs , they're like extremely rude house guests.
-
What about all the so-called parents who allowed their children to take part in a riot?
-
If the Roma family are on hunger strike then stop their benefits they donât need it.
-
They don't come here because it's a great place, they come here to live for free.
-
Why do people constantly refer to these type of areas as 'ethnically diverse"? They aren't "ethnically diverse" as they are dominated by immigrants from one particular background and part of the world.

It's not, its not about the social services, 99.9% of that crowd couldn't care less about the child, it was an excuse to show its Disdain to British values/culture/people.

1996 my 7 yr old daughter, white with red hair, was one of 2 white children in her year. I couldnât move her out of the school fast enough. She was bullied for her colour, in the UK. The only thing she learned was every religious day across all faiths, but Christianity. Christmas, there wasnât any mention of the birth of Christ. Nativity etc. From that time in my life I was open to multicultural society until my daughter was treated as though she didnât have a place in her country of birth following centuries of historical family links. That generation of immigrants live in closeted societies, whom dislike our country, culture and most indigenous people. It was the biggest wake up call for me, as the parent doing the school run, not one word of English spoken, or acknowledgment. We are the ones accused of being racist, but I lived racism towards my daughter and myself. I shall never ask anyone to forgive my opinions that support my culture.
