The S197 was the generation of Mustangs that ran from 2005 through 2014. But we all know these cars were (and still are) so much more than that. With a new chassis, retro styling, and a huge opportunity for modifications, the S197 hit the ground running when it was released to the public. Well, here at Steeda, we had been tinkering away with a pre-production car looking to perfect the new platform. Our 2005 dubbed "Old Yellow" made a debut in 2004 at the SEMA show and the rest was history. Find out what mods are the best for S197, both '05-'10 & '11-'14.

Bought my 2010 GT500 from a local guy in Valdosta, Ga. Steeda did countless hours of work on the car, It is a well built beast! Good job Jamie at Steeda! Also, will say that customer service is awesome!

I have been a Steeda customer since the 1990's when I had a fox body. I currently own a 2013 s197 V6 with the Mustang Club of America package which I bought new then. The car has numerous Steeda parts and a custom tune. Steeda has always provided a great customer service

That’s funny I was just on the Steeda website looking at 05-09 GT parts yesterday and then this pops up 👌🏾

Absolutely love My Q500. Watched the modifications and changes done to it throughout the years and was always in love with it. I am so blessed and honored to say I own it now and am part of the Steeda family. Thank You, Scott and the Steeda crew for building my dream car!!

The thing I don't like about a lot of videos that showcase the S197 body style is that the 4.0 v6's are always overlooked. Yeah a v8 is great, but not everyone has one / can afford one.
  • I love this clip. Just got me a V6 automatic 08 s197. For a daily n gonna put minimum on it for a fun daily 👍💪😎
  • I have a convertible 06 gt supercharged 410 gears . And put all your rear suspension upper lower control arms plus ultra lite springs.AND nitto 555 drag tires , only at 504 rear wheel hp AND 416 tq . I thought the upper control arm AND bracket would fix my wheel hop from 2 to 3 not as bad as before but still hopping lol. Do you think I should change to the convertible springs for the added wight . Also what do think of QA shocks to help . Single adjustment or double adjustment or any other suggestions . Ps for the first 60k on the car with no add weight just ultra light springs AND stock shocks car was very nice ridding . Added weight And pro action shocks rides very bumpy. Thank again for your videos
  • I really liked all the information you put out, but there's just one thing - why are people so determined to identify the Mustang as a sports car? Technically speaking, it's a pony/muscle car and what's wrong with that? I remember many tuners from 15 to 20 years ago that built upon the existing S197 platform that essentially just maximized the muscle car foundations it was designed to be, hence a solid rear axle and no IRS. The S197 was not intended to be an evolution or extension of the previous generations Cobra or Mach 1 chassis, but rather a true modern day interpretation of the original muscle car concept. There were tuners out there that had S197s pulling 1.5 G's in the turns and over 500 horsepower on stock internals. The OEM crank was good for about 600 horsepower, but the rods weren't. My point is that even with older technology, it was proven that modern-day muscle cars were every bit as capable as sports cars with a few mods added to the existing platform and there was no need to turn the Mustang into a sports car. Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on the modern day Mustang being a bona fide sports car today, those vehicles are amazing, even if the build quality isn't what it could be, but aftermarket tuners like Steeda go a long way in helping us to overcome those deficiencies. Some of us like the old school roots and some of us will always prefer that to the greatest new thing out there, though that's hard to do with offerings like Steedas Bullitt versions of the 6th gens and the 2022 Shelby GT5000KR.

When going from stock 16’s to maybe 18-19’s, do I need to modify anything else on the car for the new wheels?
