Guy Laliberte is legendary for his willingness to face off against the best poker pros in the world for the highest stakes, both live and online. In this massive cash game, the billionaire makes a move on a legend in his own right, Doyle Brunson. The pot soon grows out of control and becomes the largest (at the time) in High Stakes Poker history. But how should this have played out?

As always on Poker Hands, Doug breaks down each street of action and shares his thoughts on how each player made their decisions.

  • If Negreaunu had Doyle's hand, he would give a 9 hour power lecture point on why he made that move. Doyle simply says, "If you don't make a pair for 8 hours you go crazy."
  • @anisometropie
3:37 “Sammy did the lebanese chip dance and then threw his hand away” LOL
  • Doyle knows most of the guys inside out and has been reading opponents for decades.

"If you dont make a pair for 8 hours you go crazy" I feel you Doyle i've been there

I think everyone wants an entire video devoted to JaIme GOld?
  • @the-chillian
Doyle's larger-than-optimal sizing must have been based on a sense he had that folks were lighting money on fire in this game, and he'd have gotten no folds at all with smaller bets. He got few enough as it is. Plus, one of the games great whales had limped in ahead of him.

That smile on Doyle’s face when he win. Love to see it. Would love to see more Doyle in action!
  • @LEFTaTIP
I gotta say, look how calm and even tempered Doyle was in that hand. I'm not saying he wasn't nervous but he just played his hand like he was playing an $80 dollar ..... rather than a $818,000 POT. Also love the "Polker Hand Productions" deductions part saying.... what Jamie Gold really means 10:27 to 10:47.... Good one Dougieee Polk.

R.I.P Doyle, You will be Greatly missed.
  • @Yo_AB_Breaks
I'd love to sit at a game where it's reasonable to say "I raise this second pallet of monies" and nobody bats an eye. ffs, at least they edited out the forklift warning beeps for this vid.
  • @ant5111
Definitely one of the more analytically interesting hands I've ever seen/heard commentary on before. Awesome work, sir!
  • @BamaBoy1967
Best thing utube ever did was to add that 10 second fast forward button! No more D Polk comments.

This episode showed Gabe and AJ at the top of their game. I loved that show when it first ran. The poker was interesting, but the commentary made the show for me.
  • @johnnygolphy
It's cool that you're helping people learn the game. We all know you don't have to and for that we appreciate it. Keep up the great work.

    RIP Doyle Brunson 1890-2017

I enjoyed watching all these hands when they happened a decade ago. The analysis is a bit brain dead and rather slow. Ask yourself this....If Doug Polker was any good at poker, why is he running a YouTube channel?
