Organ Mountains

Published 2021-04-05
A fun trip to some of New Mexico’s most rugged mountains. The Organ Mountains are a set of granite peaks in between Las Cruces and Alamogordo, NM. Come explore this ecosystem with us to see what's out there, from unique plants, to very old trees scorched by fire, to beetles that emit offensive gas, to the White Sands Missile Range.

This hike was my favorite for exploring the Organ Mountains. The Alligator Junipers were fascinating and are thought to be 500-700 years old in that area.
  • U should hike up in, The Big & Little Floridas. Did u know the Entire City of Cruces, is also in a Super Volcano? The Entire City?
  • Great video. I’m planning a trip to Las Cruces with the family but will only have one day to experience the Organ Mountain area. Any recommendations for how best to spend that day in the mountains?
