Gaijin makes it so that cold air is more dense so it effects the aerodynamic efficiency of shells and planes, but apparently it's too hard to make heat seeking missiles actually based on heat seeking.

In this game "infrared brightness" tracked by the missile seeker is said to be calculated as a temperature directly proportional to throttle, not the temperature displayed, meaning that a 100% throttle looks like a very hot engine to the seeker.
