with regard to the different censors on Bubble and Pomni - the purpose of the bar is to prevent viewers from reading the character's lips. Pomni has a fully articulate mouth, while bubble just has puppet-like jawflaps, and thus can't be lipread
  • The groan from Ash when Matt said "Submissive and agreeable" is the voice of someone who knows a audio clip is born
  • @Boonsweetie
The teapot is an inside joke for anyone working in the 3d animation industry. We use it for everything, yes for lighting but also texture or effect. Particulary in the software 3dsmax. My school hid a tiny teapot in our hoodie design.

21:30 Just realized it’s an image AI’s attempt at writing “Maple!” XDD
  • @TheDiamondCore
The whole out of bounds scene was genuinely amazing and if the quality of this series is on a level like that, this can be a great series even with it’s horrendous fanbase

Given that Pomni uses more 'modern' slang, it's possible they all came in at separate time periods. They also all mention coming in at different times in their lives in ep1 so Pomni using slang like "hype me up" makes a lot of sense. This would also mean the 'game' they're in has been around for a while.

I’m crying 25:01 that was a completely involuntary reaction he actually has FNAF PTSD 😭

20:24 I will say, as someone with an anxiety disorder and difficulties with sarcasm and social cues, I desperately need (and need people) to clarify when there isn’t any hard feelings. I will worry myself into nothingness assuming they hate me; and I definitely don’t want anyone to feel that way about me. I definitely vibe with Ragatha and think that’s exactly what she was doing

my theory is that the game originally released in the 90s but it was shut down for being unstable, however the servers were kept online and Caine is the AI in charge of updating the game. all the people in the circus were people who got put in the game through a new VR update. Caine is not evil, but he has no clue how humans actually work so he just tries to keep them active and as happy as he can

I think the creator said Bubble wasn’t swearing when he was bleeped; what he said was just really gross.
  • @BUNBUNSTUDIOS
36:52 I am an artist myself and animator, I'm pretty sure that the reason we see a censor bar for Pomni and not bubble is due to the simple fact that bubbles character model is mostly a mouth, and so if you were to censor him while swearing you would pretty much be covering the whole character.
  • @finixmoon127
Ragatha in a nightmare sequence clearly being a projection of Pomni’s fear of isolation and abandonment : “Guess we’re not all cut out for it !” Matt : mmm how cryptic, I wonder what this could mean
  • @GlytchGames
The eyes on the live gummygoo are unfilled when he’s surprised or shocked, and filled in when he’s grounded The copy of him has both versions of the eye because it’s easy to swap the filled in and non-filled in circles by moving them in and out of his face, it’s a common technique used for facial expressions in animation Both are exposed because when you have a reference model that hasn’t been animated all the assets you’re gonna want are typically exposed so you’re well aware of what you’re working with
  • @LoryLilyBomber
I feel like Jax is the only “player character” who actually kept his memories of the outside world and had worked as a developer/something else, which explains how he’s able to get keys for everyone’s rooms, break certain rules, and also has as little care for the “real” characters as he does for the npcs. “Aren’t you supposed to be submissive and agreeable” line reads to me like “why aren’t you responding like you’re supposed to?”
  • @wolfatron3980
Pomni's dream sequence gives me really strong vibes of Woody's dream sequence in toy story 2 where he has lost an arm and is now abandoned to the abyss of discarded toys by Andy and then dragged down by the other toys, like pomni getting her arm abstracted and casted into the basement by Cain
  • @softpaw6234
I find the fact that Pomni knows what LARPing is to be really interesting considering the concept has never been particularly mainstream to my knowledge; and in a similar vein she has some surprising video game literacy displayed right after you left off for an adult in the late 90s/early 2000s
  • the entire joke of the truck getting stuck and glitching out and that’s what causes it to fall beneath the map was such a good touch. they could’ve easily have just done it where they went out of bounds via end of the map and that’s how they fell but the look of it struggling in the wall is just chefs kiss
  • Two things. I believe the reason why maple syrup is so important in that place is because syrup is also referred to as "liquid gold". Also the pose the sprites are doing is referred to as the "A-Pose" instead of the classic "T-Pose"
  • @arcticbanana66
I'm reminded of a quote from The Good Place (the episode where they were doing the Trolley Problem): "See, buddy? Don't worry. None of it's real." "Well, they're fake people, but their pain is real."
  • @docdordof5063
To give more context on the "Utah teapot" lee was talking about, It's great for testing because it doesn't require texturing or lighting to be recognizable, it can cast shadows on itself, it has points where the topology is "saddle shaped" (which is not so relevant anymore, but back when it was originally created computers had a harder time dealing with that) and has a hole on the spout. This means you're able to test almost every aspect of displaying a 3d model from code. From as basic as loading in the model to reflections and texturing.
