Such reliable and well looked after locos. Massive respect to the crews here with those appalling rail conditions. Shows you can achieve almost anything if you take care of your loco and know it well!

Been a pleasure having the two Black 5's for company for the past month. Merry Crimbo Jeff.

What a great angle to shoot from, another fine video and the 'twins' did well, many thanks and Seasons Greetings. Alan

Great video , you can almost feel the tension as they try to pull away .
  • It always amazes me how a few molecule thicknesses of oil between two metal surfaces can be either a nuisance or a blessing.

So beautiful to see these fantastic old steam locomotives in action. Very few of them are still running most are sadly & UNFORTUNATELY scrapped! 😞 & only some very special one's are kept in special railway museums. Only on very special occasions they might bring one or two or maybe three out to run ( so called stretch their legs). Of course my all time favourite of mine is Flying Scotsman. But, I hear that riding with one these beautiful locomotives is far better than one of the more modern trains. ( I unfortunately don't know not had the pleasure of it ) .......sadly! 😞
  • A good location but shame about them not being able to find there feet. Nice touch with showing how much rubbish was on the track. Happy Christmas too! :)
  • Jeff, these locos, don't know the meaning of the word "trouble". Such a reliable pair ! Shame, they struggled a bit, as it's a cracking location, which would of made for a good shot, if only they found their feet at the start, But with a such a greasy rail, they did well to get going. Thanks for sharing and have a happy Xmas. Regards, Liam

"Come on, come on, come on," they puffed as their wheels slipped on the greasy rails.
  • I love black 5s THE rails are so greecy and still able to pull out of THE station british quality 👌🏻👍🏻
