    I have a friend who converted a PEX crimp tool into a PEX press tool by carefully filing off the end of the tool. Does anyone know of a video of somebody doing this? I asked my friend to share with me how he did it but he's not reliable in replying back in a timely manner. Thank you for your time.

    1st you never use a needle nose or any other pliers to keep the Pex fitting from moving when crimping. You only use the Crimping tool. 2nd The ring that your crimp should be an 1/8 of an inch away from the Pex connection. In this video it looks like it is at least 1/4 inch away. And the most important part is after you crimp check it with a Go or No Go tool.
