I’m convinced everyone who had a furby growing up has a furby horror story. I had a similar experience with it “waking up” in the middle of the night on a shelf in my closet.

I’m still so devastated from when my parents sold my only beanie baby at a yard sale for a couple bucks to someone who said “my dog will love this” I’m literally close to tears thinking about it

I had the same experience as Shane with my Furby but I was maybe 3 or 4 and started WAILING out of fear, so my dad burst into my bedroom with the furby going "feeed meeee. Feeeeed meeeee" then he took out the batteries and IT STILL KEPT GOING BUT SLOW AND DEMENTED. I talked to him about it as an adult and he said it honestly scared the shit out of him too and he destroyed it then threw it away 💀
