THE EVE OF REVOLUTION

by: Bill Orcutt 2011
based on P F Sloan's "Eve of Destruction"

The American government it seems like it's imploding,

in it's corruption and irrelevance it is bloating.

Cross fighting and indecision in their voting,

what they say is contrary to what they're floating.

They only want to please the banks and the corporations.

Leaving the people of this country out there hanging.

And yet you tell me over and over and over again my friend?

That you don't really believe that we're on the eve of revolution.

Well look at all the hate there is here in America,

and see it's only for the purposes of those controling.

The American dreams been replaced by fear and worry,

citizens watching as their civil rights they are a shrinking,

those in authority got you right where they want you.

Unemployed and over mortgaged we are a sinking,

into anger and revolution we are a thinking

And yet you tell me over and over and over again my friend?

That you don't really believe that we're on the eve of revolution.

The Police they are paid, to do the bidding of the wealthy.

They can push us around, but the can't defeat our spirit.

Oppressed and harassed, our numbers they are growing,

They knock us down, but we get back up and keep going,

'Cause we're fighting for our rights against the tyranny they've been sowing.

And then you tell me over and over and over again my friend?

That yet you don't really believe that we're on the eve of revolution.

And again you tell me over and over and over again my friend?

That you don't really believe that we're on the eve of revolution.
