Had a lot of requests for this since the first geodetective video, so here's another one except with a 2 minute timer on each round.

PLAY ALONG: www.geoguessr.com/challenge/IxjlwbL2Nskmtnhb

BEST WAY TO PLAY: Before you watch the video, play the first round and make your selection. As soon as you make your selection quickly switch over to the YouTube tab before the time runs out and watch me play the first round. That way you don't spoil the surprise element of the video. When you reopen the Geoguessr tab the you will see how our guesses compare. Good luck!

GW: Is that actually Germany? Yeah, it is! Narrator: It wasn't

"Where is Sugarloaf?" Zooms directly to Pão de açucar
  • @rbr9292
Hey Tom, a tip for future Rio rounds: Sugar Loaf = Pão de Açúcar 👍

3:04 Schaffhausen is Switzerland, but Büsingen am Hochrhein is a german exclave and is located right next to it.

These streams are really addictive, as most of your content is!

Am I the only one who has incorporated "Get in!" into their regular vocabulary

Nice guess on the Øresund Bridge there! It's so cool to see a place you instantly recognize in this game (and then a little disappointing when you see someone who's never been there annihilate the round anyway).

3:04 ooh you just triggered a lot of Swiss people there Tom, Schaffhausen is in Switzerland :) It's fine though, the borders in that region are so complicated you often find yourself crossing the border over 2 times within minutes by train.

"we have the red here so it's Kyrgystan!" Mate, of course! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Geowizard always: A lot of you would have got this right.....NOBODY would have got it
  • Very nice Tom! The Corpus Christi location is one of the harder ones in GeoDetective I think. Glad you're enjoying the map

    1. First round: Guessed in Konstanz (Kreuzlingen), misunderstood the sign cause I thought it was pointing to Kreuzlingen city centre. Still, not far off given it was in both cases a guess on the Rhine River. 4858 points. 2. Choose Northern Macedonia. A real shame, it was because one of the letters looked like a theta so I thought it must be a Greek border crossing. Greek looking letter + Cyrillic got me into thinking it could be Northern Macedonia. I thought Russia at first thought. There were some obvious clues that suggested it couldn't be Northern Macedonia (the climate, the degree of worn-downness etc.). 239 points. 3. Obviously USA. Thought it looked like Florida so I went there looking for Padre Island but didn't find it. Turned out to be Texas, oh well. 1579 points. 4. Denmark, E20, near Copenhagen airport but I chose the wrong side (west of the airport instead of east of it). 4954 points. 5. Looked like Rio de Janeiro but I couldn't find the exact spot. Didn't know the city had a lake inside of it. 4958 points. Total: 16588 points
  • Aweaome knowledge, nice calming relaxed voice added to that! Great stuff!!

Dude you didn't say no moving until 3 locations into the video. Of course, I still got crushed minus the 4,999 points on Corpus Christi. Clocked in at 15k. Love these play alongs, so much fun!

You could almost make out Cristo Redentor in the clouds on top of that “epic mountain”

This map is really great for play-along, I feel like I actually learned something on how I could improve by listening to your reasoning. Also interesting to come to similar results from totally different angles, I saw Portuguese plus got a strong Rio vibe from the mountains without fully recognizing/naming Sugar Loaf, my score was similar to yours but in the opposite direction, a little farther out from the city centre.
