I remember meeting Rick back in NYC around 1985 at a guitar show and he wasn't in good shape. Also saw him play at a little bar in Greenwood Lake late 80's and there was no one there and he was uh under the weather I think. I thought and think he was an amazing guitarist who was on his way to checking out early and then somehow he pulled himself together, got sober, found God and here he is. Amazing person. He lived it and survived and he is still alive and well.

He always looks likes he is happy and having fun when he performs...
  • I know Rick Derringer from Baggies, NYC. Remember Hang on Sloopy. He invited me back to his home with wife Liz
  • Rick is on fire here, knocking it out of the park. Ringo got it right with the whole idea of the All Starr Band. Ringo doesn't need to prove anything to anybody; all he needs to do is call up some legendary rock and roll friends, hit the road, and play a bunch of songs that everyone knows and loves and can sing along to. I went to one of the shows, and it was great fun, with three generations of fans in the audience. Peace and love!

When I was 14 in 74' I had this song on 45. Me and the girlfriend wore out at least 6 needles and finally the 45. This is an awesome version, so bitchen! Thanks Rick so much!

I love his playing. There are shitloads of great guitarists, but there is something special about Rick’s style. Beautiful.

One of the best rock and roll guitarists to have made it with a band. Just great.

Derringer is a monster. I'm an old guitar player. The fact he can still move his fingers like that is impressive enough.
  • Rick is a master technician and an humble Christian, too. What a national treasure we have here, folks!

I'm 63 now, when I was in my late twenties I went to see Rick Derringer at a venue in New York and my girlfriend had backstage passes so after the show we ended up in Rick derringer's hotel room partying with him and I never seen so many sandwich bags overflowing with "flour" in one place ever before. That was a good time but I was younger then.
