It's time for another monthly money check in, where I go over my budget for the past month. This month, we see if I brought my expenses down (especially food expenses... if you know, you know) and how much I spent overall in August. Then, we do something a little different by setting myself up for an even better September. By that, I mean I change my budget category goals to make them more realistic. Plus, I talk about the challenges of budgeting an inconsistent income! Grab your coffee, tea or whatever you're drinking and get ready to budget with me.

Do you have any budget or spending goals right now? Let us know! 👀
  • I have very similar food related spending goals to you. It's nice watching a Canadian channel and not having to do any mental currency conversions to compare.

Love monthly budget videos!! Keep them coming 😊
  • Ive found it helpful when planning variable monthly income to make an average of the last 3 month's income, and use that amount to create a monthly spending plan with.

i lovee monthly budgets thanks for being so transparent about yours!
  • Have you considered cutting your own hair? I have long hair like you and I just separate it in two on each side and chop off an inch every six months. It saves a toooon of money and really doesn’t make a big difference when you have long hair already.

love the quality of the videos! what camera do u use
  • food was always my pain point too. until I accepted reality that I enjoy food and just boost that category and cut off from other less important fun categories for me.

You should consider getting amex cobalt considering you spend a significant portion on food and dine in.

I’m surprised you guys haven’t relocated yet considering you can now work from anywhere. Do you plan to move from Toronto once your lease is over or do you plan on staying in the city long term?
  • Could you make a video on how you come together with your boyfriend and decide who pays what?
  • how do you plan to invest when you max out your TFSA contribution limit?
