I am furious, but I can't say that I'm entirely surprised. As a company, 2K and their parent Take-Two have been awful for years; their current games are becoming increasingly arcady, neglected, and predatory by the year. Still, I'm a little shaken because this is a new low even for them; straight-up cards in the logo, glowing powerups, 90% of the footage is cards, chopped-up gameplay to hide flaws a la Madden, etc. The next step from this is cover art with a hand holding a fistful of money and the money-hungry emoji, footage of micro-transaction buying instructions, set to a loop of "I got mind on my money, and money on my mind."

Man you're an amazing inspiration. Your game Legend Bowl is lighyears ahead in design, philosophy, UX and especially nobleness. The world doesn't make sense. The Fifa games has become some card playing game? Each time I watch a stream of FIFA they're just picking cards 90% of the time. It's hilarious in a way. As said, you're a great inspiration for indie game development. I hope you all the luck succeeding big time with your work.

You're not old Javo, the market just sucks. Some people always want to deflect criticism with the "you just want the things of your youth". While that is a phenomenon, stuff can absolutely just be garbage.

Not bad there is a season mode I check out steam at times to see if the football game head coach tatics or maximum football

I'm so glad you made Legend Bowl and College Bowl is on the way. Between the sorry state of NCAA football (everyone runs spread option offense and no effort defense), the complete shit show that is "licensed' NFL games and the completely staged/incompetently coached NFL product I have no interest in football outside of historic films, your games and my son's HS season. I'm also certain the new NCAA EA game will be another shite show. Thank you for all you do man. I love Legend Bowl and hope you keep putting your games out.

Yeah I just downloaded and played for about a few hours it’s a pretty fun concept kindof what Wildcards is but the plays play out by the ai/computer. I’m 18-0 😂 but the concept would be fun on console doing the red drive.

Brilliant! I've been waiting so long for 2k football, and I know it's not a typical football game but it's really nice! Already have a pretty good deck and I love how they work in real world stats. I bet it'll get even better with updates too.

They could be using this as a way to work on the "bones" of a simulation style game and meanwhile make some money off it, without also breaking the license agreement. Why work on an arcade style game if your ultimate goal is realism? I guess a good arcade style 2k football game could be fun, but a game like that also seems like it could not be an alternative to Madden. I guess I'm still mistakenly believing the window for 2k simulation football could still open at some point down the road. 😢

Unfathomable

The future of sports gaming, in terms of variety, is in unlicensed, indie and AA titles. With EA, the NFL and other major licenses being the way they are, there is no other way. Hoping and dreaming for a new game to come out every other decade is not going to cut it.

Trading card mobile game? Yeah, 2K might not break even with what they paid for the license. 🤣
