In 1981, six years after joining Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks went solo for the first time with her debut album ‘Bella Donna’. A massive success, it sold more than five million copies in the U.S., topped the album charts and produced four hit singles, including her signature anthem, "Edge Of Seventeen." More platinum albums followed – ‘The Wild Heart’ (1983), ‘Rock A Little’ (1985), and ‘The Other Side Of The Mirror’ (1989).
In 2019, Stevie Nicks made history by becoming the first female artist inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice - first as a member of Fleetwood Mac in 1998, and most recently in recognition of an extraordinary solo career that spans nearly 40 years.

I was lucky enough to get a hug from Stevie at Red Rocks during this song. Best night of my life. Stevie your music gets me through all my medical stuff.

She mentions in an interview, she felt that this song needed something but couldn't figure it out. She called Prince and he played the piano, (recorded it) and left. She said it was magical!

Just like the white winged dove Sings a song Sounds like she's singing Who who who Just like the white winged dove Sings a song Sounds like she's singing Oh baby oh said oh And the days go by Like a strand in the wind In the web that is my own I begin again Said to my friend, baby Nothin' else mattered He was no more than a baby then Well he seemed broken hearted Something within him But the moment that I first laid Eyes on him all alone On the edge of seventeen Just like the white winged dove Sings a song Sounds like she's singing Oh baby oh said oh Just like the white winged dove Sings a song Sounds like she's singing Oh baby oh said oh I went today maybe I will go again Tomorrow And the music there it was hauntingly Familiar And I see you doing What I try to do for me With the words from a poet And the voice from a choir And a melody nothing else mattered Just like the white winged dove Sings a song Sounds like she's singing Oh baby oh said oh Just like the white winged dove Sings a song Sounds like she's singing Oh baby oh said oh The clouds never expect it When it rains But the sea changes colors But the sea Does not change And so with the slow graceful flow Of age I went forth with an age old Desire to please On the edge of seventeen Just like the white winged dove Sings a song Sounds like she's singing Oh baby oh said oh Just like the white winged dove Sings a song Sounds like she's singing Oh baby oh said oh Well then suddenly There was no one left standing In the hall yeah yeah In a flood of tears That no one really ever heard fall at all Oh I went searchin' for an answer, Up the stairs and down the hall Not to find an answer Just to hear the call Of a nightbird singing Come away come away Just like the white winged dove Sings a song Sounds like she's singing Oh baby oh said oh Just like the white winged dove Sings a song Sounds like she's singing Oh baby oh said oh Well I hear you in the morning And I hear you At nightfall Sometime to be near you Is to be unable to hear you My love I'm a few years older than you Just like the white winged dove Sings a song Sounds like she's singing Oh baby oh said oh

Suffering from a cold and decided to seek comfort indulging in the sheer wonder and brilliance that is Stevie Nicks. Two hours and half a bottle of whisky later I just don't want to stop. Enchanting, mesmerising and breathtaking. I can only imagine the wonderful privilege it would it be if one were a part of Stevie's circle of friends. Can you imagine that ? For me her presence, her aura her beauty would be overwhelming, intoxicating. One of my life's regrets will be never seeing Stevie perform in real life. So this channel is the next best thing I guess...Peace and love to all fans from Australia, but most of all peace and love to the queen of music royalty, Stevie Nicks.

This is one of the first songs I ever clearly remember hearing on the radio. I couldn't have been much older than 6 or 7 and it always stood out to me, especially that final verse. The way the voices play off of each other only to come together, is stunning. This song just hits all the right notes and strikes every meaningful chord. I really hope Stevie and Co. understand why this song is so special to so many. So glad to have this remastered version available.
