165kg Four Metal Melt

Rixxismetals got in contact a while ago.
He asked if I would melt his e-waste into ingots.
So he dropped 175 Kilos off here at my workshop.

I want to remind you about how dangers of melting. I accidentally dropped the ingot mould into the water with the ingot. I quickly took it out, but instead of letting it dry properly, I poured hot aluminium into it. Unfortunately, the mould exploded when it got filled, covering me in molten aluminium. Even though I was wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), my clothes, hat, glasses, respirator, camera, and camera stand were damaged. It took me two hours to clean up the mess. The second mistake was using a new crucible that was larger than my usual one. It slipped out of the tongs, causing hot brass to fly everywhere. I learned quite a few things from this experience.

  • Wow, you are such a lovely guy doing that! Bigger wow thank goodness that didn't splash up on you! Had to watch in two parts, started Tuesday and it was my mother in laws funeral yesterday so finished today. Great video, really enjoyed it and a lovely bunch of ingots! Would love a close up of the brass shingle! Even the mishap managed to spill into 2 ingots🙃

Got a question , hey do you sell your ingots or just stacking , I was thinking ov selling my aluminium ingots just to get some extra dollars just want to see what others are doing
  • Brass is an alloy not a metal. 😀 (Nothing bad about you or the video tho)
