  • Applied. Got hired on the spot. Hate reading and last book I read was YEARS ago. Answered every situation scenario question like a pro. dusts off shoulders
  • @heyimsasa
it's my dream to work at a bookstore and B&N is the only one in the area aND I WANT IT SO BAD!! thank you so much for this 💖
  • @LiterallyLo
I have no plans to work at B&N but this was fascinating regardless👀
  • am i planning on working at B&N? no. but i'm gonna be nosey anyway
  • @Lunar_Kay
This is so helpful! I love your channel:). I have my in person interview today and I’m so excited bc this is my dream job!

I am so happy you made this video and that I found it. It's very hard to get hired at my local Barnes and Noble but it's been my dream job and I just applied. I love to read. I haven't really read any of the newer romance/sci-fi books though I know about booktok. I was wondering if it would be bad if I didn't have a lot of previous experiences to all these new books or the booktok books. Would that maybe be a reason they wouldn't hire? I also wondered if you had any tips on upselling a book? one more question. isn’t calling to let them know seem a little pushy? like how would i mention it in a casual way. or just what do you usually say when you call to let them know you submitted an application

Would you recommend these same tips to someone interviewing for a seasonal bookseller position at a University's B&N? I applied at the Temple University B&N and have a zoom interview coming up. If you have any extra tips please let me know! Update: I got the job! Interview was relatively easy, because I have volunteer library experience. Will update if they decide to sign me on for longer term. :)

I wish I had this video when I was really young like back in 1995, 1997 or 1998, I should have worked at Barnes and Nobles back then instead working at a shitty movie theater, I was an usher, which was basically like a janitor.
  • @ariela_
I applied every time I saw a opening in my locations and one of the locations sent me a rejection email the very next day. I live in nyc by the way but yeah it’s super hard to get a job there. I even call but they never reach back out to me.
  • @Gregg_Magic
Thank you for the video! I've been trying to interview for B&N forever but they NEVER have openings in or around my area. I feel like I should just walk in one day and inquire directly. It's curious why there are never openings, either I always miss them or people really do love working there and no one ever leaves??? Yikes though to that 10 dollar starting pay, that's a crime.
  • @hanzzer21
Hi! So, I'm trying to apply online, but I can't seem to find the exact Barnes and Noble I'm trying to apply for. Would that mean that they are not hiring? And if I call, what should I ask for specifically? Thanks :)
  • @ilsegomez8087
Sorry I had to stop the video when you started to say what a great worker you were 😂 thanks for the tips though
  • I am planning to apply for a Bookseller position at my local B&N. Any advice on what I should do for my cover letter and résumé since this will be my first job? (I do have a bit of work experience, as the place my mom used to work had a bring-your-kid to work day. That’s the only work experience I have, though) I do love books, too, but I’m kinda picky about what books I read.
  • @a73t0ne
if i wanted to work there as a first job with no experience is that a good choice?
  • @user-wt9sg2cc1o
I've recently applied for a temporary position as a bookseller and am waiting for any updates that state they accepted or declined my application.
